I have a quick question. I know the usual first Ban is either Awakener or Rozenciel. Assuming I am using a generic 1 healer, 3 tank box, in what cases do I ban Awakener and when do I ban Rozen? It feels like banning Rozen allows for more flexible plays, but Awakener is terrible in her own way

Unfortuantely, there really is no general approach to tackle this problem because it not only depends on your own strategy, but also on how the opponent deals with ban pick under different circumstances, which evidently cannot be predicted beforehand, especially in the ranked mode (but ban picks can be somewhat prepared in the tournament. But lets just assume we are talking about the ranked mode here for convenience...). Nevertheless here is the short answer: 1st ban depends largely on how your box is designed. It also depends on whether you are on the first move/second move, and the opponent's box. Here is the long answer: 1st banning the opponent's Awakener would most likely mean the opponent can first pick Rozenciel and play defensively. Generally in this case, you can counter Rozenciel combinations with assassin units such as Grunhind or Oboro (if you are certain the opponent is overly defensive, but this will render your play style to become very passive too) in the box. On the other hand if you are willing to 1st ban Rozenciel and play against the Awakener, then normally brutal DPS exchange match is inevitable. You should have units with long reach in the box (high mobility does not matter that much, reach is more important), and sometimes you should even get rid of the assassins in your box. An exception, which I also love to use, would be Wettam, because he is essentially half-immune to debuffs that last 2 turns. But again, these are merely general approaches, and Ban picks can differ a lot depending on whether the opponent is on the first move (that is extremely advantegous for rush plays). The opponent may also deliberately want you to ban the awakener in the first place because he is a "giant turtle", and so on. You are right about handling the opponent's Awakener is difficult. This is the MOST OP hero so far in the game, because there are too many moves to calculate and a lot of luck depencies occur during the game if this aberrant thing exists in the field. This is also one of the reasons why the heroes that come out later on are relatively much weaker, because if one of them is stronger than the Awakener, that would ruin the game completely.

​@@stupendousrabbit03 Thanks for the advice. Let's say I ban Awakener and they will eventually take Rozen and 1 tank. For these situations, I do have Oboro and Grunhind in my box, but if my opponent bans both of them, what would be a 3rd good character? Use Leon's 3C to forcibly move my opponent's units? Or will I just have to fight through their tank?

​@@serenade718 How would the opponent ban both of them if you choose Oboro/Grunhind as your first pick? If you mean you are picking Rozenciel as your 1st pick while banning the opponent's Awakener, this ban pick is already too passive and I strongly do not recommend doing so (If you are banning the opponent's Rozenciel and picking Rozenciel for yourself, especially when you are on the first turn, then this is fine. But note that many will not pick the Awakener on the second turn). You could be disadvantaging yourself further when Lina comes out later on because Rozenciel's heal is not sufficient to withstand the AOE combos.

@@stupendousrabbit03 Wow, this is definitely intriguing. Up until now, I thought it was mostly 1st pick Awakener or 1st pick Rozenciel. So, in general, 1st pick Rozenciel even if she is my only healer, isn't a good choice? Let's say I have a typical box Healer: Rozenciel Tank: Landius, Hilda, Lightbringer Attacker: SP Leon, Awakener, Lostham, SP Dieharte, McClaine, Light and Shadow, Gintoki, Oboro, Grunhild, Adankelmo, Lucretia And I ban Awakener first and my opponent (also with a typical box though I guess Oboro isn't see that often in Ladder) picks Rozen first, bans Awakener 1st, and gets at least 1 tank What do you suggest I try to pick?
