my theory about keeping the landscape any way intact would be to spin the rolags as 1st rolag left to right, 2nd rolag right to left, 3rd left to right. Then you could knit it straight up knit-purl or knit as wide as you figure the rolag stretched while drafting or maybe quarter it in width to retain some essence of the blending board. Having said that I'm not sure it would retain much of the blending board image just due to distortion. but I loved figuring that out lol

I LOVE the way this turned out! I think the black compliments very nicely. I'm not dyslexic, but I feel like our brains work similarly from your little middle ramble. I can't plan projects like that. I have a Daddy. He's super technical. I use him to figure out the technical aspects of my art. I told him the size I wanted a blanket, that I wanted it made out of hexagon, and how many hexagons I wanted to use. Five minutes later, I had how big I needed to make each hex.

You were overthinking this as you identified. All you did by stretching out the rolag was "pre" drafting. If you simply knit directly from the rolag, instead, all of the drafting is "in-the-moment." It doesn't matter which you do. The color placement will be identical. 😊

I would love to see how this knits up, or any landscape yarns. Do you have any videos on that?? :D

I love your ramble after you spun half of your first rolag. I go through the same thought processes as you do about my projects! And, I'm also dyslexic! What did you end up doing with this project? I left you a comment in your landscape video, and I'm so glad I found this video so I didn't have to wait to hear back from you to see how it spun out. I think the yarn turned out absolutely gorgeous and I'm super excited to see the end project! Also, after listening to your thoughts on marino, what are your thoughts and experience with angora? As I mentioned yesterday, I have an angora rabbit I bought my daughter for a pet (and also so I could selfishly collect the fiber so I could learn to spin, haha). I just wondered what you thoughts are about angora. One more thing, my husband and I are buying a house on some land so we can have a hobby farm for our kids' homeschooling projects ( like you, I'm a homeschooler who's now homeschooling). We're definitely wanting goats/sheep and more angora rabbits so the kids can get involved in 4H. Bonus, I can also learn to spin and teach the kids to spin as well! I'd love your insight about different fibers. I've been leaning toward cashmere goats. What are your thoughts? BTW - This is Adam's wife, lol! We have one KZread account!

yay!! I found the video!! I enjoyed watching it and I really like the black that you plyed the rolags with. do you know if you will knit with it? or do you think you'll be able to weave it?

I don't think that your idea of weaving the same size of the board would work because spinning attenuated the fiber so much❓❓🤔 💜💙💚💛🧡❤

I love the result, but I do not see the landscape theme in the end because, in my opinion if you blended the colours seperately and then spun them the result could have been the same. I do not want to be to critical but I really do not understand what the use is blending them on the board together.

Milda Hoffer I was putting them on the board so the pattern on the board matched the landscape. then the fun comes in because the pattern on the board is inspired directly from the landscape but what happens when you spin the rolags is totally different. You'll get repeats of the colorway of the rolag, which ends up being small sort of rectangular Keyhole look at the landscape. I like taking inspiration and then applying it in unexpected ways rather than just trying to exactly copy the landscape like everybody else does. this way is unexpected and it's unique because of how I manipulated the colors to do things that weren't drawn in a linear line from the landscape.
