Love your work! Thanks for sharing!
Really good. Thanks for taking the time and really going through this. Camera settings would have been great.
Love the image in the style of Andy Gray. I discovered his work via Thomas Heaton channel, feel in love with ICM from Andy’s channel, and then found yourself. We are allowed out now so plan to get out there soon, and practice.
Thanks John!!! Excellent video and info on ICM!!!!
Thanks for this. ❤️Love the lone tree image & all of them 😍. I’d love to learn even more about how to do this technique.
Thanks John, I really appreciate you making this video. It's a great introduction to the technique! You're photography is pretty solid, awesome shots!

Mil gracias por compartir tu maravilloso trabajo. Me encantó y me llega muy a lo mas profundo. Realmente es un arte muy inspirador. Das cursos de esta técnicas?
John, I like the harbor scenes for sure. The harbor scenes remind me of Monet's "Impression" piece (although more sunset theme), and Turner's "Snowstorm: Steamboat off a Harbour's Mouth." I think your photos could even be better by adding more contrast. Try exploring with Lightroom's Clarity, Texture and Dehaze sliders. Enjoy!
Nice work John, beautiful images and great video. Thanks for sharing mate.

Janis Ivanovskis Photography Dear John! Thank you for sharing your story and thoughts of getting inspired! Shure each photographer has his own of getting inspired. As well I do! But the bottom line is to be satisfied at the end of the day with what you saw or capture on the road. I do landscapes and kind of different styles. Sometimes you return back from shooting with nothing, the only you have is your experience, left from the workout. You have very interesting photographs and a way of capturing them. Thank you for sharing with your way of thinking and thank you for the video about Capture NX2! Respect. It helps me a lot! Success, mate!

A late Thank you from Germany for these beauties and the inspiration by them. I like the picture of Kimmeridge Bay the most. Been there some years ago hiking on the southwest coast path. Great Colours in deed!

"They always look great on the back of the camera" That's how I feel about buying jeans at the store, they always look great in the mirror. Wonderful video, love the photos, the d700 is on my camera bucket list!

Congratulation...I have seen a lot of photo experiment in youtube, but your work let me a fantastic new horizon to go in. I am as you, a "senior" photographer with 50 years doing photography here in Chile, more exactly at the patagonia side of the country were I live. Excuse my bad english, and again...bravoo !!

I know this is an old video but I found it to be very inspiring, I have recently start ICM , I have probably shot 2>3 thousand images every time a venture out I use electronic shutter on my xt5 so I am not worried about shutter count, out those thousands of images I might get 1 good image but it is improving, I love it and will continue trying different things, thanks for the great videos 🙂🙂🙂

I decided not to use my mint condition XT3 for this very reason lol. So I dug out an old Canon 7D and feel a lot more comfortable rattling off the 'thousands' of actuations : )
Cool
Thanks John, really enjoying watching your video Hard to know which photo I preferred, they are all outstanding. Can I ask what filters and roughly on average what shutter speed you use.

Well thank you so much for your very kind comment. For my ICM I use a 6 stop filter and a shutter speed of around .5 to 1.5 Sec depending on the composition. Hope this helps? John.
May I ask what was your camera exposure for the sailboats ICM. I love it so much

Well many thanks it varies but it was about a second.
Super narrative and shots. I must say when I’ve tried this it’s usually only 3 shots at most to get my photo😳 Maybe I’m too easily satisfied 🙄

Thank you for the kind comment if 3 shots works for you that's great.
I really like ICM images, and other impressionistic types. What fascinates me is how people react differently to them. There seems to be a 'Marmite' effect whenever I show people this type of image..
