LANDO Gets 35” MAXXIS TREPADORS!!! Fitting 35s on a Discovery 1 w/ 3” Lift
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Today we fit some new tyres on Lando, my V8 Land Rover Discovery 1. I went with 35x12.5x15 Maxxis Treps in the hard compound bias ply. If you want to get your own set, contact Fraser Engineering in Christchurch. Enjoy!

Thanks! Should have them out being tested soon!
Very interested to see your bump stop setup once you get it sorted
Bit of a Garden edging will do the trick but you could do a custon metal flat flare
Ohhh the silicone on the guards is great fun same thing with mine when I done snorkel thought It may have been factory

Someone else in the comments said it is 🤷♂️ I hadn’t come up against it before though. Either way, it sucks!
Truck is looking good mate. You probably already know but you will need to adjust the pressure limiting valves on the front to match the adjustment to the steering stops.
The fenders come stock glued it’s to stop noise what I do is take a flat bales to most of it and start lifting it from the from the shape of the fender will stop it from warping also I have a 4in lift on my d1 with a bag on top so when there is air in the bags it’s a 6 inch on 35s and because of you I put a p38 trans cooler in my tow rig

Interesting!!! Sounds like a sweet set up. And awesome, glad to hear it!
Nice Honda Crossroad mate!! 🤣
Look into Holden Jackeroo / Isuzu Trooper (not sure what they were called in NZ) rear bump stops, they have a nice tall progressive rubber bump stop that's an easy substitute for the Land Rover ones, I run them in my Range Rover and my Dad has them on his Discovery too.

Nah I’m trying to keep it as low as possible (while having at least 5” of uptravel). More trimming and we’ll be fine!
Like to see how the mods go. Tray back to sought the rear ha ha

Haha definitely keen to chop a disco one day but not Lando, it’s staying a wagon!!!
Que tipo de caixa de velocidades tem o teu discovery 1 ?? Tens algum matéria reforçado .. semieixo.. diferenciais.. etc.? Abraço da ilha Terceira, Açores, Portugal
How did you balance the tires? I have the same ones on my defender and they ride really bad.
@Crawlerer79

Just with normal wheel weights. They’re never going to be great on road however they’re significantly better than my old Silveys so I’m happy!
engine sound like 6bt5.9
Did you get em balanced dude any steering wheel shake??
@Crawlerer79

Yep, they balanced up okay and no wheel shake at all 👍
Are you running standard diffs under the disco?

Rover axles with HD 4.11 gears, lockers and chromoly shafts and CVs, HD flanges. So still Land Rover, but not very Land Rover haha

@@Crawlerer79 I need to do this to mine. I’ve got a 3 door discovery running 33’s at the moment
How do you have so many pre facelift disco's and are any manual?

They’re actually quite common in NZ, and nah all autos

@@Crawlerer79 up here in Auckland U can barely find any pre facelift disco's but my dad found on. It's a All original discovery 1 v8 auto pre facelift in white with the original centre console bag and it still has the factory filling paper stuff and the land rover strap for it.
What do the wof inspectors think about cutting up the body of it, do they care or not?

HD 4.11s, basically built axles so these shouldn’t (fingers crossed) cause any issues!
4.11 diff's are ok with 35" tires? The Disco comes with 29"!
@Crawlerer79
Жыл бұрын
Yep, pretty good! 4.11s work out as the correct ratio for about a 34”, so ever so slightly overgeared. If I was doing it again I’d run 4.37s
