I was at the dead sea not long ago, its sad to see it so small, and the guide shown us how much bigger it was. There are plans against it, like one which suggests using water from the sea, tough there are problems with those plans. (To this ones for instance, the other countries using the dead sea water do not want to depend on other country for their water supply)

Apart from maybe earthquakes because brick and earthquakes don't mix very very well. It been said bricks aren't very great because they don't have and flex in them like wood does so brick building are in danger of earthquakes. Some buildings around my area have cracks in them because of earthquakes and after shocks

Great video, some of this I was not aware of. Just two things are nagging at me: 1) when mentioning the cities that are in flood danger due to rising waters; you didn’t mention the currently threatened city of Venice Italy. Waters are already rising in the Mediterranean and Venice was not built for this. As it is, they already have issues with bridges and walkways flooding when the tide rises in the evening. 2) Big Ben? The bell inside the tower is called Big Ben. The building itself is usually called the clock tower at Parliament, or Elizabeth’s Tower.

Actually, the famous part of the Great Wall isn't 2000+yo. The stone wall was built during the Ming dynasty, over 1500 years after the construction of the oldest parts during the Qin dynasty. Of the oldest part there isn't much left, partly due to erosion, but mainly because they were made from wood and clay.

About the Coral reef, climate change is currently the least problematic one... Crown of thorns, that have periodic massive population explosions stripping massive swath of coral are literally eating their Eco-system to death. Which is why, Australia is actively culling them. Tropical storm and human interactions are number 2 and 3 on the list. Since 2020, the barrier reef have started to recover. But if those 3 factors aren't solved, yes, climate change will be the last stroke. And sadly, climate change WON'T be solved, seeing that China produces like 50% of the worlds green gaz and is refusing to do anything about it.

I live in Kenya, a country that neighbours Tanzania. I would be very sad to see Mt. Kilimanjaro's snow disappear 😢😢😢

It is already sinking as it is all built on top of around 10 million massive tree trunks that have been forced into the marshlands below it. There are huge areas you could travel completely underwater from place to place among all those tree trunks like swimming through a submerged forest.

When I was in 7th grade in north county San Diego in 81we were given a day off of school to spend the day with our family, since California was predicted to be destroyed by an earth quake on that day and a large percentage of the state "falling" into the ocean. If the following day we were all still alive we were to return to school. I spent the day off at the beach. In the early 80s a 7th grader was plenty old enough to go to the beach with friends, without adult supervision

@@automation7295 so, rusty, discolored, unsafe to travel up it, etc... Is ok As long as the public approves of the view. Not to mention possible rust related cuts. Who knows, maybe it could stand for a bit of a new look to match the times. An upgrade. Also there is a such thing as drawing out possible images of what it would look like then have the public vote on which look is best, then go with the popular vote. Maybe even build a model size of the design and metal and color they plan on using before building it, then have the public come in to decide on which they like and for the ones who wanna complain who didn't show up to the meeting, well they had their chance to be heard, so after it's built, it's too late to say anything. Just as long as they don't make a spectacle out of it. As in, keep it as a historical site than to make it too modern. Like don't deviate too far off from the way it use to look

Dude another awesome video. We we got some good laughs with from that little animation character of yours and that ending..well 😅. What is the name of this animation? I've been calling him Michelin Jr. Like the tire guy.

Considering I live nearby, The Great Barrier Reef would be horrible to go. Not only is it a massive tourist attraction that gives our country tons of income, it's important to the ecosystem. Not to mention beautiful. I visited the great barrier reef back in 2019 (I think. around then at least). The coral was pure white and I saw very, very few colourful coral that you'd see on TV. While we were there, I was able to grab a few of the white coral that had washed up on land or been broken off the main chunks via waves and have brought them home. They now live in my turtles tank as a slight memory. He's a sawshell turtle named Nadar. We legally own him with the proper paperwork and licenses so before anyone asks, yes, in Australia you can have turtles as pets with laws and regulations. Only certain turtle species and under specific conditions. Not to mention you need a license which costs a hefty sum AND takes a while to get through. Either way, he is an important member of our family. I chill by his tank (We are trying to find a safe way for him to live in a pond) and vibe with him. Bop my head with him, Talk to him ect. He loves Shrimp. A lot. Anyways, enough ranting of my turtle. (I also have a domestic shorthair cat and a french bulldog)

According to mainstream climate change sources of the past (like the 1990s) like the one you cite, the sea should ALREADY have swamped those vulnerable locations. The rate of rise at ground stations in non-sinking locations is not accelerating.

the reason science works is because we are willing to say hey we learned a new thing that makes our old reports outdated the climate change reports from the 1990's are outdated you need to always use the most recent studies. In the 1990's it was appearent there was a climate change problem but because we didn't take all the major steps to change what we (and i mean large corporations and laws regarding pollution) did with waste and pollution things kept going in the same direction. We did take some steps and that's what helped prolong the rise of water and temp but it by no means fixed the issue. Also in the last 34 years technology has also gotten way more accurate and advanced that's another factor in why you need to go with the most recent studies because like i stated earlier we know more now and so the older studies while they gave us information it wasn't as much as we know now and so they are outdated.

Global warming is a natural earth cycle. Earth cools and gets warmer over time, so yes global warming is real as everyone’s saying, but the question is if global warming is speeding up because of humans. We just have to not worry about it because there’s nothing we can do to stop it, we just have to adapt

As for rising sea levels, there has been a recent report that the Turkey Point Power Plant in Florida is already under threat from inundation. The Dead Sea is not the first body of water that has dried up due to human activity. As for the Yellowstone Supervolcano, that is only one of 12 sites where volcanologist think the next super eruption will happen. I don't know where they all are. I know there is one off the west coast of Italy and there is another one in New Zealand. If one of them goes off, it will solve our global warming problem.

10:07 I highly doubt that the statue of Liberty would ever come close to being HALF submerged. The statue of Liberty is 305 feet tall. If you split this in half you get 152.5 feet. So the waters would need to rise 152.5 feet to half ways submerge the statue of Liberty. Only 2.9% of Earth is covered in ice, while 71% of Earth is covered in water. Ice also shrinks as it melts. Something isn't adding up. How would that amount of ice melting cause that much flooding? If someone has an answer, please explain it to me.

I went helmet diving in Boracay Island last December. It is just sad to see the seafloor littered by bleached dead corals.

Did ya'll know?: The Eiffel Tower: A few millimeters gained in summer, but lost in winter! When temperatures rise, the Tower increases in size! This is a natural physical phenomenon called thermal expansion. Heat causes an increase in volume that makes the Eiffel Tower a few millimeters taller.

Watching the part about global temperatures rising 1° c, there are studies that also say that it's just the weather cycle of the Earth that it has been warmer and colder over the past millennia and that human may or may not have any effect on this change of temperature. The problem is that studies that show that humans have nothing to do with it are suppressed.

I think the video is interesting but I strongly disagree with the climate alarmist parts. There is alot of political motivation behind giving alarmist estimates to convince the government to keep funding them. Climate change is definitely real, just not to the point that alot of the more left leaning publications will have you believe. If it was as big an issue as people would have you believe, I highly doubt that high ranking politicians and celebrities that perpetuate this would continue buying waterfront property.

The "16-29 ft" sea level rise is no longer considered accurate. The latest IPCC reports predict an absolute worst case of less than 4 ft in the next 100 years.

This video should’ve had a somber intro to pay respects to the monuments.

No, they should never disappear and sometimes be popular but sometimes unknown because we always have to preserve them everyday forever from as to most.

I’m most worried about the coral reefs. Buildings and monuments it may be sad to loose but there are plenty out there, sixties are creating flood barriers (for instance Venice have just built a flood barrier system) and things can be done to help other cities. But if we loose the Great Barrier Reef we aren’t just loosing coral we are loosing an entire eco system. The coral also help in so many ways. It would be devastating to loose the reef. That’s why scientists are trying to find corals that are hardier to warming temperatures so that they can try and save the reef.

The Great Barrier Reef has been through plenty of warming and cooling cycles over millions and millions of years. I don't see why it should be any different this time, even if man-made climate change is a real thing (which - to me - isn't so much).

@@yodorob well that just shows your ignorance. The reef is dying due to the se water temperature. It’s a fact. If the reefs die the net re is no habitat for millions of species that call the frees their home and then those species will die. Then up the food chain the predators that feed on these species could also have less causing them to decline. Also many humans around the world that rely on the reefs for food, tourism etc will have their livelihoods destroyed. Lastly they play a minor roll in the absorption of carbon dioxide/production of oxygen in the water. It would be devastating to loose out reefs affecting a huge amount of life (both in water & on land). The earth may have been heating up before but the temperature changes have shot up DRAMATICALLY since the industrial revolution. If we cannot find a way to make coral more resilient then coral reefs will die if the water temperatures increase.

@@CarolineLurks have you seen NONE of the documents where they have SHOWN the coral and how it is bleaching and dying off in some areas. Just the other year I was watching a documentary on the subject. They were talking to someone about about how these organisations are trying to cultivate more resistant corals that do better in the warmer waters and how they are trying to plant these corals that will survive better. They also said if the waters keep warming then the current corals will bleach and die. I don’t know where you are getting your information but things might have slowed down a bit during covid but no the coral reefs are NOT doing well they are doing ok but please don’t try and make out things are just fine as they wouldn’t be doing all this research on trying to prevent coral bleaching if things were fine.

another one isnt on earth but the storm on jupiter will likely dissapear within the next century. it has only been around for 400 years so when the romans named the planets the storm wasnt even there yet. kinda crazy to think about since thats one of jupiters defining features.

I remember the early 1990s very well. I remember climate change alarmists (they all called it global warming then) were making the same predictions of flooded cities. Except in the early 1990s they said it would happen by 2020. It's always only 30 years away. Not to brag, but at my age I've now survived at least five predicted ends of the world.😁

In the 70s I lived in Ft Lauderdale, FL At the time it didn't have any real problems over there. Now after just regular thunderstorms, not hurricanes there is flooding up the canals and in areas along the beach along that section of coast. Water treatment plants have had to be elevated to protect the aquifers from contamination. Dream on.

Not to be too picky but when he said rust is caused when metal is exposed to oxygen OR water, I need to clarify it only oxidizes when exposed to oxygen, but water can speed the process up.

Actually, it occurs from exposure to oxygen, AND moisture or water. The water is needed for the ionic formations of iron to occur, even if it is just moisture in the air. There are mutiple steps, but can be simplfied to the two equations: 4Fe + 3O2 + 6H2O → 4Fe(OH)3 4Fe(OH)3 → 2Fe2O3 + 6H2O

@@franklingossett364 Exactly, the most basic thing happening is the oxidation, which requires oxygen, but water needs to be present, like a catalyst, for ionization, which is the first step.

@@franklingossett364 No, you need that dipolar H2O molecule for the ionizing process.

Compared to Yellowstone vis-a-vis the US, I'm much more worried about an eruption the size of Krakatau 1883 or Tambora 1815 heavily damaging countries like Indonesia (where those two latter volcanoes are located), Italy, or Nicaragua. Those eruption sizes occur more frequently than the size of the biggest three eruptions at Yellowstone.

Realising how many of these landmarks last a long time in "Life After People" but could be gone in my lifetime (assuming the Cascadia Subduction Zone doesn't unleash the big one-btw anything in cities like Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland belongs on this list for that reason) makes me quite sad. That said concerning ourselves with The Big One or a Yellowstone erruption when we're responsible for the extinction event is not productive.

If new York gets swallowed by the water. We will have a real life Bioshock.

Is it possible that sections of the Great Barrier Reef bleached in the geological past due to warming temperatures from various causes? And yet, the Great Barrier Reef as a whole has survived for many millions of years through both drastic warming and drastic cooling.

But there was a story that told about how everyone was in an uproar about some "mat" of material teaming with an array of biological life forms drifting across the ocean toward I can't remember where. The concern was over the possible introduction of invasive species. But this very same mat of material could also be the catalyst for the Great Barrier Reefs of the future for all we know. For the volcano one me and my brother watched this youtube series called Doomsday 10 ways the earth will end. season 1 episode 6. They did a whole thing about what will happen and you are fairly right just left out the whole where those areas would be under a volcanic winter. But there would be some people who survived.

There’s another volcano or super volcano. It is Long Valley, called era, which was more likely to explode then Yellowstone in our lifetime. It will be the worst thing, and it is possible to make another Ice Age.!!!😢😢

If people didn't know that landmarks could disappear in your lifetime, then I don't know what to say.

What landmarks disappeared while you were alive? I can't think of "landmarks" only prev popular hangouts and restaurants. It's always sad driving by something you enjoyed and it be gone.

I'm pretty sure most folks understand landmarks disappear and that nothing lasts forever. It's still interesting information. Plus I don't recall any disappearing in MY lifetime, other than the twin towers in NYC.

Stonehenge is about one mile from the road. The plan is to make a tunnel with the original road. It won’t touch Stonehenge at all, so it won’t collapse.
