At the mission board: NASA mission planner: wait, so you want to send a person to Jupiter. Space one: precisely. NASA mission planner: and you realize that Jupiter is millions of miles away from earth. Space one: mm hmm. You realize this will take a decade. So? We have to pack enough food, water and oxygen for a person to survive in space for a decade. Okay? And it will be hard to fit enough fuel in the rocket to get them there when there's all those heavy supplies in the rocket. And? This rocket will be super heavy, and will most likely not get to orbit, and even if it does it will almost certainly not have enough fuel to get to Jupiter. What else? It's a one way mission, and I don't think that'll fly under our ethics committee, or the general public, or the astronaut's family. (I just realized the best part of his plan is that he will send a person to his doom) Yup. And there's a asteroid field that could potentially destroy the ship while it's on its way to Jupiter. Who cares? They might die before they reach Jupiter, from many potential causes, including going insane from isolation. Yep. And you want to _land_ on Jupiter, the _gas_ giant? Yes! …no. * cuts to launch pad * Space One: yes. NASA mission planner: wait, what? * distant explosion * Please like please I worked hard on this.

Although I really liked the story behind this, the chances of Space One actually hitting an asteroid is slim since they're usually hundreds of miles apart (unlike how they usually show it in Hollywood and all that).

@@dezynjikReal you could make a death row rocket (without a landing leg or anything that helps you land) on a 1 way mission to the sun, the condemned would be launched into space with just enough stuff to keep him/her alive during the mission, first day starts during launch and ends with a crash on the sun

It would have been interesting to see whether the program gave a realistic prediction for at what ''depth'' the shuttle would achieve buoyant equilibrium, or float in Jupiter's atmosphere. Shouldn't it at some point, because the gasses get so compressed they become dense enough to float the shuttle?

Well if they add astroid belt it would be chaotic and if they put more moons then it will also be chaotic a d if they add dwarf planets it be impossible to go there (unless u use inf fuel or a good rocket ofc but rip to those who dosent have dlc)

I busted my ass off trying to land on Jupiter the other day and got surprised my lander just sinks through the terrain and then I realized i just tried landing on a gas giant

1- Jupiter would destroy the ship with gravity. People inside would be a puddle of jelly before you even get close to the surface. 2-The winds and the materials in the atmospher would destroy what gravity left of the ship. 3-There is a belt of asteroids that would crush the ship before you even get close to your destination. 4-You can't pack enough oxygen, fuel, food and water to get there. 5- People inside would probably suicide since a decade in space would make you depressed. ...but let's do it😅

I did this once, I got to Jupiter, I was doing the best landing That I ever made, then sank right through the planet, I was trying to find the ground but realised quick There weren’t any because I got Out at the other end of the planet. I Know I’m stupid, blame it on teachers at school not me.

So in reality you will die(explode) beetween Io and Jupiter because his huge gravity. Same situation with Satutn

There is a liquid gas surface, since the gas was pressurized in the deep down near the core of the Jupiter, so it becomes liquid.

Jupiter has a solid core, meaning that if you (unlikely) get there you can actually land on it. But in this game it's core is made of gas and it tilts you as you're there, so I guess not.
