Landing a Helicopter in my Buddy's Yard!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Before I flew with Izzy, I wanted to take my patrol partner with the sheriff's office flying. He was busy working on his Christmas Tree Farm, so I flew to him to say hi instead. Looking for a good book to read? Check out N.O. Justice, the latest in the ALEX SHEPHERD Series: books2read.com/u/mV6zl5

Wags, A-10C driver, probably (currently type converting to AH-64D): "We're approaching some power lines, so do we go over or under it? Dumb question!" Also Wags: goes under it :D
Louisiana's most expensive fist-bump. Bringing back lots of memories. Thanks for the videos.

Getting real good with the approaches and touchdowns. Can you still hear Lester’s voice in your ear?🤣

Couldn't imagine having driven at the age of 16. Minimum age here is 18 (though for quite some time it's possible to "dual" at 17, but that wasn't the case when I learned), and it took me similarly long as it took Mover to get his PPL-H, so basically I wasn't allowed to drive before being 19. Never had the chance though to drive my parents' cars, since they always had the insurance conditions with some minimum age of the driver, and the insurance companies nicely kept raising that age to prevent me from driving as I never could afford my own crate - until glaucoma happened, still got the license, but I'm just too responsible to even try it again - TD;DR: Getting the license was the biggest waste of money in my life and I could only imagine :D

@@CakePrincessCelestia I live in Queensland, Australia and you can apply for a learners permit once you've reached the age of sixteen. After certain conditions of learning and passing a test you can apply for a provisional licence (allows you to drive around by yourself with certain restrictions) once you've reached seventeen. I think then an 'open' licence is available at eighteen years of age.
"Hi!" "Hi!" "Well, I'm gonna go back. See ya later!"
You are looking more confident every trip Moover!
I’m glad that we finally got some good weather and you could have some fun with your hard earned Helo creds. Thanks for another great video brother. (Bill from Slidell)

Great job with the GoPro on the skid Mover!

Pretty cool seeing my old high school stomping grounds (Slidell) in your video. Love to see the Northshore from the air!
Looks like a fun trip! Great music choice, the helicopter looks like it was dancing to the music on the way there. 😂cool!
Oh man, getting bold. Next thing you know you'll be wanting to be a bush pilot.
Patrolling seems like you are serious about learning the security crafts and based on that becoming a helicopter pilot for the Sheriff later on.

Wow, did you see that Christmas 🎄? Me Either.😳 LOL. Awesome ride.👍😁😄💜
Awesome flight sir we’ll done !!
G,day Mover from Sydney Australia. * Looking for powerlines. That flight was somewhat rewarding, just like a country drive. I know it cost a pretty penny. Going back to sleep, sir. 🌏🇦🇺
Great video and I like the funky music.
Should get your friends to pop smoke haha. Also ATC is in a good mood today 😊
My friend should visit me with a chopper, he’d have to beat me out of it 😂
That was cool AF. Shame your buddy couldn’t hop in for a quick spin.
I saw the first half of the title and thought he had to make an emergency landing somewhere lol
Looking good in that flight Mover. How long till we see ya shopping for a surplus MI-24 to buzz the Bayou with?
This reminded me of a day long ago for a young man with a fresh printed license to roam and nowhere to go. Of course I had been driving ever since I could reach the pedals, but that day... That day was different. Great job. Well done.
OMG a clear day! Nice to see a blast from your early video past. Have fun flying!
Love these vlogs 💪🏻
Wow…. Time to start LEARNING!
Must be such a fantastic feeling knowing you can jump in the helo anytime and go for a spin. Since I'm thinking that's not an option in the Jet so much :) Gotta love a controller that sounds like he loves his job.
That was awesome. I need a helicopter 🚁 😂
I brought this channel - and specifically this series - to my petrol-head nephew's attention some months ago because I thought (hoped, really) that it might spark a new interest. Literally his first comment? Something like, "Er, so he was a fighter pilot who wants to fly helicopters now? Why? Does he want to fly Apaches?" I actually thought that was a fair question.
Reason 4367 why Mover is cooler than you: Flies a helicopter to his buddy's house. Fist-Bumps, Quick "'Sup?", Then is all like, "Okay, I'm out. C-ya". Flies back. :) So it really is awesome that your hard work paid off.
Looks like you are really embracing the versatility of swing wings!
Nice landing Mover!
A couple weeks ago I took off and kept hearing this loud banging. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from but it sounded structural. Instruments all looked good and plane was flying exactly as it should. Eventually I discovered the passenger seatbelt was hanging outside the passenger door.. woops :).
well that looked like fun
CW. LEMOINE: Maybe you can answer this question: what restrictions are there for landing off airport in a Helicopter. For example: do you have to only stick to a flight plan, or can you land in places with adequate space?
@CWLemoine
2 жыл бұрын
It depends. There is no flight plan unless you file one (which you typically wouldn't when flying VFR). As for where you can land, it's anywhere that's safe and not restricted by local laws. Private property is fine with the owner's permission. Some parks are okay, others have specific restrictions.
You should have a copy/paste preset for that AC coolant info :D

Nice!
Love your vids Mover! Can you just land where you want?
Nice smooth flight! How did Lakefront fair in the Hurricane?
I can see it in your mind's eye, " I AM Stringfellow, and this IS Airwolf!"
This is perhaps the main reason I'd pursue a heli PPL
That was a nice video, very instructive on orbiting to check conditions prior to landing. Wondering why you didn't shut down and go in for a glass of tea or something? and regulations to landing off-field in a rural neighborhoods?

Time. Had to get back to NOLA to park the helo and then get home for other obligations that afternoon.
I forgot what town it was, we were doing a cross country flight in x2 60’s and x2 58’s. Landed at some strip that had massive hangers. Inside literally were like billionaire aviation summer homes. A full hanger with multiple planes, RVs, helicopters, and a actual apartment condo like house inside🤯.
R44 won't mess up his trees lol. Might give them a little shake
Great video as always! May I ask what the name of that awesome track during the timelapse is?
With all the water in south Louisiana do you carry a flotation device of any kind?

Rent.
A few recce passes, a fist bump and an "alright well I'll see you later" has me convinced I need to get my helo license. This is also why everyone on Nextdoor is constantly asking why helicopters are flying over their house. It has turned into a running joke between me and my wife asking "WHY ARE HELICOPTERS?!" every time one flies over because there is always someone on Nextdoor complaining about them.
No smoke to mark location?
Quest - What is the cost/hour for this (or typical) helicopter types? (Hmmm literal “just dropping in for a visit”? Pop smoke?)
What would you do with engine out over that huge expanse of water? Try to land on bridge?

Man helicopters are super weird. Still cool of course.
Ok...if you come land at my house, I'm coming for a ride!!
I read this like "First off, airport landing" and was briefly confused until I then read it correctly as "First off-airport landing" Lol, funny how languages work sometimes.
And he didn't wanna go for a quick ride around the neighborhood?
What did that cost you flying alone? Normaly you fly with that young sherrif guy?
