Landfall in Fatu Hiva after 23 days at sea (EP 41)
Welcome to another update from Elixir's voyage around the world!
In this video, we make landfall in the beautiful island of Fatu Hiva. It's a relief to see land again after so long at sea, and we spend some time exploring the islands.
The Marquesas are stunning islands, with a rich an unique culture, and we are constantly in awe of our surroundings. For a long time, it's been a dream of mine to sail through the south Pacific, and now that we've arrived, it doesn't feel real.

The oldest Polynesian DNA is here on Fatu Hiva. The ancients sailed from Tiwan to Samoa. Then on to this island. Then to Rap Inui and on to South America. We are now finding Polynesian gnome markers in Columbia, Brazil and Mexico.

As others have said, your storytelling is Epic Max. Last year I sailed to the Marquesas arriving in Fatu Hiva then checking in at Hiva Oa and snorkelled at Tahuatu. But you have described the experience beautifully. 👍
