No cooling, a second gear so long it's unusable, an engine that could never put down peak power because the throttle's pinned to wheelspin... The top speed isn't power limited, but gearing and engine durability limited. Shifting into second has to start higher on the power band. Crank back the power from 1700 to something more moderate like 1200 and dump in some cooling so it doesn't explode before top speed, then dial that back to just barely more than enough. Figure out what's holding it back now. Aero? Needs more power, add cooling at the same time and see if that makes an improvement. Gearing? Make em tall boys. And ease up on the gas on the powerband - once the tires spin that's it for going faster. One afternoon of tinkering and you could get a definitive answer to how fast a bugo could go.

@@joakimcarlsen71 i think it's a consequence of only taking one pass at a build. He usually knows what needs to be fixed, but never revises (unless you count dropping a new engine in a revision.) The youtube grind doesn't really allow much time for it, i guess

If you use the engine cooling it would give you enough time to use all of your gears.

I’m surprised on how a car with the drag coefficient equivalent to a minecraft block could even reach 200kmh

Keep in mind that oposite aero makes the car more "lightweight", thanks to the air pulling up. Chances are when yo get to 350 you cant go any faster because your wheels left the floor a while ago

The reason the flat tires make the car faster is because you need more grip, once boost kicks in it breaks the tires loose and you slow down due to drag.

i think if he tuned it for a flatter torque curve it'd do better. it's slow up until 6000 rpm and suddenly it shits the bed

Use solid axles on drive wheels (if it's optional), so that the wheels would stay perpendicular to the road when doing top speed runs.

Just give it more power duh. Speed=power×bugo You already have the bugo all you need is more powa baby!

The deflated tire keeps sticking to the body weight,so it makes more grip and it don't spin out (which causes overheat because the engine was spinning fast for the tires to spin out)

The thing about the tires... it's actually how they behave irl. You're increasing the area the tires make contact with the ground allowing for higher launch speeds due to the car having more grip.

Why didn’t you just lower the rpm limit?

More weight *might* actually make it go faster - since your problem is too much drag and too small grip - but the raw grip can be increased by adding weight and drag is not increased by weight. As long as you have some power.

Automotiveflux, fully clad undertray gives you lower drag and higher top speed than downforce undertray at 0.

IRL the reason flatter tires can help is it allows more of the tires surface to better contact the ground, providing better traction, I'm guessing beam takes that into consideration

The deflated tires increasing speed has to do with the slicks/semi slicks physics because they inflate more the faster they go

I'd like to see you run the LSR Bugo again but with altered gravity. It'd be interesting to find the gravity that minimizes wheel spin. And if that wheel spin reduction translates to faster speed. This was great fun to watch, thanks!

Dont wanna be hating, but i think you'd get alot more out of it by actually having sufficient cooling so it can reach it. I have made a car that went to about 600kph and i did not compromise on cooling.

That "speed-Record" thing sounds pretty nice :D .. maybe it would be worth it to try and reach 500 or even 520 km/h ? :D ... but sadly not with the Super Bugo in it's current state ^^ Cause you asked: me for myself (is this even english???) prefer "longer" videos .. i don't mind even if they are 40 or 50 minutes long :)

I'd like to see you do a top speed bugo but actually go in the files to make it fast it's very easy to do and is extremely fun I have a minivan that does wheelies at 300+ mph

You can easily get it to 380 kph with this engine if you tinker with the gearing. The second gear is absolutely useless right now. Don't focus so much on lowest weight, make the tires a bit wider, so it doesn't spin so much, maybe even use traction control so it handles a bit better while getting to 300

I've noticed you still got a lot of Camber for your Record Bugo. You mught get more grip for driving straight forward without camber.

Is it the limits of the Bugo that prevent you from going faster or is it that your Saint ultra R has a gearbox which will shift up before your tires deflate. Not once did you try to pre-shift on inflated tires. Maybe you did that off-screen but it feels like you can get so much more out of the car if you manage to get into second gear before you get your crazy wheelspin moment in first. Hell, with 1700 HP you should easily be able to start in second to lower the chance for wheelspin.

I really don't hate AutoFlux but a video like this shows that he REALLY can't make certain cars. At least he tried but DAMN does this car have bad design choices.

You should lengthen the gears out but not as far as you have but enough to get 4th gear at 400kmh and you could easily get it it you shift early to reduce wheelspin and you will beat the record

Yes you are right. But what i ment is that if your tires loose grip at sertain piunt, you wont be able to reach top speed. If you deflate the tires you are able to keep grio at a higher speed at least that is what i understood the problem was with the car in the video, i may be wrong. Great video and sorry for my english it's quite rusty

Go to settings in beamng and turn off preheating engines. It'll help you a ton

I somehow got over 1MW (ca. 1350hp) out of a 3.6 liter V6. It is still the strongest engine I ever made.

Hear me out I wouldn’t have used carbon fiber I would have used normal steel because in land speed racing sometimes they have to add weight to gain traction and go faster with a super light car basically nothing but aero is pushing down on the tire

6:45 front biased AWD. you said its because more weight on front. yes that's the right thing to do but for acceleration. when I aim for top speed I do 70% front to make it understeer. therefore prevent spins.
