I own a 2014 and initially I had issues trying to connect to the bluetooth but its an operators issue to become comfortable with Toyotas bluetooth procedures. Using my phone via bluetooth is extremely convenient as well as having my playlist piped through 11 speakers & a subwoofer with Toyotas stock radio. But you're right the ride is smooth, No road noise unless your off road, no wind noise but you'll hear the engine rev and wind down. The FJ Cruiser is the best daily driver that I've ever had.

I have owned a lot of SUV's. Most of them would get stuck on a golf course, but this is one that is for serious off road action. The car is solid and built to last forever. My only comments is the radio and the nose diving action of the car when you hit the brakes. Nothing that cant be fixed. But overall this is a tank! Nice review James!

This guy is a very good car reviewer, I hope he ca do more with all the new models available in the Philippine market. He is as efficient as the American counter part. With regards to the FJ cruiser, I really like this car I hope Toyota will consider not to cease the production of this iconic car, I love the look and if Toyota can improve some of the features James have mentioned that would be interesting and will encourage more buyers specially the youngsters.

Anyone is considering buying one, take the 6spd No matter what anyone says. I’ve owned both, and the 6spd did about 2 miles better on gas mileage, and I was able to crank it up after my starter failed. The perks that a 6spd gives you makes it a must if you decided to purchase an FJ cruiser. Also, in 10-15 years from now, the next generation of 4x4 people, will want a 6spd gear box. Just my advice

James. If you think this vehicle is bad on fuel economy. You should have been around for the 1970's to 1980's full size Blazers, Broncos and pickup trucks. Best MPG was 11 going down the highway. 6 - 8 off road. These are an economy car compared to them.

I go off road, particularly in Tanay, with a stock FJ and with those Dunlop AT22's. They are okay. It is not the most amazing tire but they can do their job. Airing them down to about half the recommended tire pressure will give you more confidence in them. I'll be changing to a more aggressive all-terrains once they go bald. For now, these will do.

My 2008 rear wheel drive FJ Cruiser has an aux cord input. I also run off of street tires that look like they`re all spares and it can get the job done well. I love the car, but i do admit, it could do better on gas consumption. I would love for toyota to continue to make these vehicles. Also if anybody knows of any auto shows I could enter my FJ into, please let me know.

Don't judge a book by its cover. I drive both vehicles as daily drivers and a little bit of off-road as well. They are both capable off-road vehicles. Slight advantage to the FJ with its rear locking diff when you tackle a difficult terrain. However, the Land Cruiser has that twin-turbo diesel which is just amazing going uphill and engine braking downhill. In my opinion, the Land Cruiser is more of an overland vehicle while the FJ is an weekend off-road vehicle. Both will take you places no other ordinary cars can.
