In Lance we trust... it's "bean" beyond exciting to look forward to a football season instead of the alternative of who can we beat mentality. Lance is a champion builder and a champion sustainer. Let's do this! RCJH!

A generational coach that never won anything besides the Big 12 title and some bowl games. There is an argument to be made that Nick Saban is more generational than anything Snyder ever did considering where Alabama was when he took over

@addictedsGamingCorner And now you see it first hand 😉 There’s no sane KU fan that doesn’t respect what Coach Snyder did, especially in the little apple. Purple kitty fans are just nervous because they see big brother coming. For the record, I believe Coach Klieman has a couple national championships and Coach Leipold has 6 (6 Ls total in 8 years or something crazy like that), though all were at smaller divisions.

A great coach, but comparing his turnaround to Snyder is freakin stupid; he has yet to win the Big 12 title, has yet to qualify for a big time bowl, has yet to achieve a #1 ranking - Snyder did all these multiple times

What’s also “stupid” is comparing the beginning of a tenure with the best of decades at a program. The fact that Coach Leipold is doing something similar to Coach Snyder is not an insult to Coach Snyder. Stop acting like little kids - “What about me? Talk about me.” The contrast is one of the refreshing things about Coach Leipold - his willingness to applaud the performance of others. Besides the other coaches outside the program, it was interesting to learn about the relationship and involvement of the RB coach and Grimes in the past and interviewing.

@poodook Speaking of ignorant is somehow twisting my comment into implying that Snyder is anything but class as a person. Lots of respect for what he did, especially in the little apple. The fact that it was done once doesn’t make a repeat less impressive. Pull your head out of the silo and you’ll see it’s so many times over throughout sports.

Gary Barnett had the greatest turnaround at North Western . NW was the worst football program ever and he took them to a rose bowl . Bill Snyder had a nice run at K st. but the Big 8 was awful when he took over , had JUCO recruiting advantage, Snyder was just able to beat the bad Big 8 teams and cupcakes. He was 5-36 vs top 10 teams. If Leipold keeps this up he will have the greatest turnaround in history.

Did the phrase cupcake schedule exist before the purple kitties resurrection? Best was when they were all proud of themselves through the regular season then coughed up a hairball in the conference championship game and subsequently got passed over repeatedly for bowl invitations. They fell all the way to the “we deserve better than this” bowl (AKA Alamo Bowl) where they promptly lost to Purdue.

What Lance is doing us amazing, yet even from a KU fan the greatest turnaround in college football was at k-state. KU as bad as they were never went THREE years without a win nor did they have a fist fight brawl between players and coaches before Snyder came.
