Lance is a legend.

For years I've been mad at Lance. I was an Ullrich fan and I just couldn't deal with all that situation. Sure it was fucked up, but you know... no one is evil or angel, we all have light and shadows, so does have Lance, and every rider at that point (and, you know, everyonel in life). Anyways, at some point, after watching some interviews, reading stuff and listening to the man, I started to understand everything. Also, seeing how much respect Jan and Lance have for each other is 100% enlightning. So yeah, Lance's story is amazing. Every single part of it. And also, the fact thet the UCI didn't put any winner on Lance's deprecated Tours is pretty clarifying of it all. I would love to share a ride with Lance. I ended up admiring and respecting him for several reasons.

Best segment was of course about Jan. Lance never had a brother figure growing up. He had mentors but never that sibling friendship. He got that in spades with Jan and you can see how heavily it impacted his life. If Lance leaves a legacy with anything he did, it’s his love for Jan Ullrich that’s way up there. It’s cool as shit.

Fascinating. A lot of what Armstrong did to individuals, bullying, threats, businesses and careers destroyed not to mention using cancer as his shield are unforgivable but I do have some admiration for his resilience dealing with the way he kept his head above the water.

I will always love Lance Amstrong & respect him! He inspired me to start road biking around my 50 ,last year I did 6 400 km in summer& this year I will try to do same.❤

So if you want to win the Tour de France, first you need to be as light as possible. Second you need to be as strong as possible in the sub-lactate-threshold zone and to race as much as possible without going above this threshold. This is the same today, I think. And you need to train below it too. But the races are training by themselves, so the pros get some high intensity training. That's why Chris Horner says he never did intervals, he just raced hard. I guess if one doesn't race often or at all, they would need interval training or something similar.

Sounds about right to prevent chronic fatigue. Agree, I think intervals are good if you aren't training/racing the big (ie the big being about 500-800) kilometres per week.

He has the sport in palm of his hand....great asset!

Here in Albuquerque, the DJ on the station that I listen to asked "What is the best people to come out of Texas". I responded with this: Lance Armstrong. I know what you are thinking, “CHEATER”. But upon looking into pro cycling more; if you made a list of the worst cheaters in cycling history, I don’t think he would make the top twenty. When they look for someone clean to give the victories to they couldn’t find anyone. For my money Lance Armstrong is the best thing to come out of Texas, besides the Vaughn brothers!

Some of the negative comments here from the do-nothings are laughable. Lance is a champion and far more determined, courageous and accomplished than the keyboard warriors littering the comments of every lance Armstrong video.

He proved that he was the best at cheating, and going undetected for a long time. What he did to defame and bully others, was totally reprehensible. Of course others cheated, however, they didn’t go to extreme lengths to cover it up, like LA did.

A a German Cycling Fan I hated Lance big Time...he never had the Grace of a Miguel Indurain or Jan Ullrich riding the Bike and he was a Psychopath. I forgave him arround 8 Years ago and I respect the Man..I became a Fan of Lance. I love what he did for Jan and I love the Friendship between him an Jan. And, perhaps I’m in my feelings because I just watched the documentary which showed him at his worst, the arrogance, condescension, etc., that he exhibited towards anyone and everyone who questioned his integrity. That written, I’ll do my level best to be more open minded. @@rosierambo144 it took him awhile to realize that most people were not upset he doped since everyone in the peloton was doing it at the time but rather the way he went after people who spoke up about his doping. I believe therapy helped him realize this. Credit him for seeking help to learn and heal and grow. Shows a lot of maturity.

I have no interest in piling on this guy after he spilled the beans....but Lance is still trying to remanufacture the narrative on his terms - one tidbit at a time - still peddling talking points, "playing offense" as he would say....that he was unfairly targeted ...or why he was a freak natural athlete and how pure training explained the wins. For folks who are general sports fans, I'm sure it makes sense and easy to believe and move on. But for folks were truly love bike racing, and understand the sport, the real narrative is a very important historical lesson. Its not personal and it's really not about Lance...its about how a great sport became corrupted and almost destroyed by money and fraud.

"Everyone on the tour was doping" shows 2 things. First is a false assumption that everyone was doping. So even if the top 100 finishers were on a PED and number 101 was not. Then number 101 was truly the winner. Hence Lance and 99 others cheated and not legitimate winners. Now was he world class. Yes. Only because before this he was. (AS A ONE DAY CLASSIC SPECIALIST). He was too heavy for a GC rider. And second a lack of knowledge of how EPO works with each individual. EPO makes some super strong but others just stronger. So it is not a level playing field.

Only thing that counts. Can you live with the feeling you were the best cheater in the world and every time you came over the finish with your hands high you really think you were the best of all drivers in competition. From 96% of all drivers using dope, you where the best in cheating the control system.
