Lana Del Rey - West Coast (Lyrics)
Down on the West coast, they got a sayin'
"If you're not drinkin', then you're not playin'"
But you've got the music
You've got the music in you, don't you?
Down on the West coast, I get this feeling like
It all could happen, that's why I'm leaving
You for the moment, you for the moment
Boy Blue, yeah, you
You're falling hard, I push away, I'm feelin' hot to the touch
You say you miss me and I wanna say I miss you so much
But something keeps me really quiet, I'm alive, I'm a lush
Your love, your love, my love
I can see my baby swinging
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swaying
He's crazy y cubano como yo, la-la
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby, I'm in love
I'm in love (I'm in love)
I'm in love (I'm in love)
(Mic-check)
(One, two)
(Two, two)
(Get it, girl)
Down on the West coast, they got their icons
Their silver starlets, their Queens of Saigons
And you've got the music
You've got the music in you, don't you?
Down on the West coast, they love their movies
Their golden gods and Rock 'n' Roll groupies
And you've got the music
You've got the music in you, don't you?
You push it hard, I pull away, I'm feeling hotter than fire
I guess that no one ever really made me feel that much higher
Te deseo, cariño, boy, it's you I desire
Your love, your love, my love
I can see my baby swinging
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swaying
He's crazy y cubano como yo, la-la
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby, I'm in love
I can see my baby swinging
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swaying
He's crazy y cubano como yo, la-la
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby, I'm in love
I'm in love
I'm in love

I just "discovered" Lana del Rey. Obviously i've heard 4-5 of her most famous songs and i loved them but just now, i listened to her full albums and i'm in love. This woman is magical!! I'm a metalhead, so i never expected to love so much of her stuff.

Lana del Rey deserves to be praised. In my opinion, she could handle the heavy burden of carrying our stories as millennials, this broken generation that went through a lot in a world that just won't stop giving us a break. There's no one but Lana who trailblazed a path for younger artists to be brave and presents stories that don't necessarily fit in the box of "standard love". You'll find stories of death, depression, love, atypical relationships, abuse and etc. within the folds of Lana's lyrical contents. Had it not been inspired by what she does, I would have never been able to put out an award winning film out there, inspired by her song "California", talking about how she navigating through Barrie's depression. Lana fans, let me know what you think about it!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/oId3ltKthZqfXZs.html

There's something so magical about this song... It makes you just want to fall in love with someone. Not a lot of songs affect me the way this one does. This song takes me into a new world. I love Lana's older music more than her newer, but I'm glad she's changing her style up because songs like this are pure genius and without her changing her style up, this song would have probably never existed. Daniel Rivera she is a mainstream singer...
@maxcoberturas4804
9 жыл бұрын
Elvis Mejia If Lana Del Rey to you is mainstream, you just don't know what mainstream means. To this day Lana is pretty much the only artist doing this genre of music, you know, Hollywood Sadcore, she's an artist who doesn't follow any current standard, she's going in a different way. Her sound is far from being curated by a horde of producers to make it easy and catchy to the public. There's a depth in her work that you don't find in any other modern artist. Also, Lana Del Rey doesn't have any air time, you don't hear her songs on a constant loop on the radio, she doesn't overpromote her albums like a lot of nowadays' "artists" do, you hardly hear anything about her except when some people is trying to tear her down. So Lana Del Rey is far from being mainstream, much less overrated, overhyped and overexposed. Get it right.

The guitar, the loose drums, with a little hint of the "Lana" sound and you've got gold. Love this experimental side. People are saying she has no identity because she didn't stick to her usual sound but if we're speaking in terms of identity normal people don't stick to one thing in life. I'll never forget when this first premiered and I watched it in my apartment study area right next to the bus stop where Blue would pick me up to head to the stadium to drive my car to college in Boone.
Someone said «took me 2 minutes to realize it was replaying» IT TOOK ME YEARS WHAT

Re: Lorde and Lana. I think Lorde, being young, has young ideals of what should and what should not be in society. Lana on the other hand is about getting in touch with ur base emotions, base instincts (desire, materialism, thrill seeking, vices). To me, Lorde's lyrics are like essays or op-eds. Lana's are like poems or sincere diary writings.

WHO IS LORDE?

There's no possible comparison between Lana Del Rey and Lorde. It's not about the fact that they are two very different artists, it's just that Lana Del Rey is way more talented than Lorde. Lana's vocal skills are more impressive. She's better live even though she's not the best live singer, at least she sounds good, Lorde tries too hard and she's not even able to hit the notes in each of her songs, she sounds off pitched all the time. Lana's music is not repetitive, whereas Lorde's "Pure Heroine" is one long song, with the same annoying techno beat throughout the whole fucking album. Plus Lana doesn't have to be a bitch to anyone to be talked about, i don't even care about any of the artists that Lorde has dissed (the only one that she dissed and made me pissed is Lana) it's just the fact that it's very childish for someone who claims to be so mature. So yes, it might sound simplistic but Lana Del Rey IS *better* than Lorde. #sorrynotsorry

Ivan de Yta Please don't make this about "beauty", and focus on the musical aspect. After all they are both singers, not contenders for a beauty pageant.

It's obvious that Lana is prettier than Lorde, but I'm not talking about their looks. I think Lorde writes more "inspiring" lyrics than Lana, but Lorde's music doesn't attract people as much as Lana's music.
I'm in love with your creativity! when I listen to your songs, wings grow behind my back, and sometimes tears of happiness come. I cry from the beauty of your songs and your voice.
Lana Del Rey's songs lately have become a routine for me, they have become a lifestyle, because every day I listen to it and I never get sick. Love much!!
lana del rey is literally a GODDESS.

i like the way how she is inspired by the vintage music, i think is like Psychedelic rock
I didn't even realize the video was looping, I was too entranced by the song.
i remember when this was first released, i misheard the "my love" as "la la" in "como yo my love" and thought that sounded so beautiful even though it was apparently lacking any meaning. i've always considered lana's music to be, at least sometimes, focused more on beauty than unnecessarily deep meanings (despite her profound poetic ability). until realizing what she actually said in that line, i had thought it fit with her theme to add something meaninglessly beautiful just for the sound of it. and i really loved that part because of it
Probably my favorite Lana Del Rey song
3:19 this final signal sound in background is killing me. its genius song , Different from others, can't wait for Album.

Its a synth. Like a synthetic string instrument sound. That was made popular in the 90's hip hop era. Listen to snoop dogg's 'doggystyle' album or Dr. Dres 'Chronic 2001' album. A lot of the beats do that
I was watching this video for like 3 minutes after I realized it was repeating over and over again
