Lana Del Rey - Video Games (Lyrics)
Swingin' in the backyard, pull up in your fast car
Whistlin' my name
Open up a beer and you say, "Get over here"
And play a video game
I'm in his favorite sundress, watching me get undressed
Take that body downtown
I say, "You da bestest," lean in for a big kiss
Put his favorite perfume on
"Go play your video game"
It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on Earth with you
Tell me all the things you wanna do
I heard that you like the bad girls, honey
Is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
And baby, now, you do
Hmmm
Singin' in the old bars, swinging with the old stars
Livin' for the fame
Kissin' in the blue dark, playing pool and wild darts
Video games
He holds me in his big arms, drunk, and I am seeing stars
This is all I think of
Watchin' all our friends fall in and out of Old Paul's
This is my idea of fun
Playing video games
It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on Earth with you
Tell me all the things you wanna do
I heard that you like the bad girls, honey
Is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
And baby, now, you do
(N-now, you do, now, you do, now, you do)
(N-now, you do, now, you do, now, you do)
It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on Earth with you
Tell me all the things you wanna do
I heard that you like the bad girls, honey
Is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
And baby, now, you do
(N-now, you do, now, you do, now, you do) Hmm-mmm
Now, you do (N-now, you do, now, you do, now, you do)

Is it the first you hear of this song? I’m proud to say I heard it since I saw the CD cover in a CD shop when the first album came out. i didn’t buy the CD, but immediately came on KZread to check out her songs then cos I love the aesthetics of the CD & the intriguing song titles as I’ve always been an indie song lover..😆😆 That’s how artists starve lol! All of us listening for free on KZread. 🤭 I’m in love with most of her songs in the first album and “Thunder” & “Ride” from subsequent albums. “Thunder” is an unknown song from her which i love a lot & listen to a lot. You’re welcome! It may become your favorite song too. I actually don’t feel like sharing cos I want to have a song that is special to me that nobody knows but at the same time I feel she deserves more recognition: m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/hoKpyJKSkqzPnZM.html&pp=ygUUbGFuYSBkZWwgcmV5IHRodW5kZXI%3D

I totally agree, I haven't listened to that song in years but thanks to that episode I came back to Lana Del Rey Music, what a show 3 Body Problem is. Soon I will watch the chinese version of the show then buy and read the books. This is good sci-fi, sci-fi that makes you think of the possibility of different intelligent life forms in the Universe in an other and deeper way! It makes you wonder if it's a good idea to look for other intelligent life forms in the Universe if we are not well prepared enough to face the consequences of doing so.

I just lost my mom a few days ago to stage 3 cancer. She had it for a little over a year now and gave it one hell of a fight. Through that time I started finding myself humming or singing the melody of this song at random times, developing an attachment to this song I couldn’t understand why. I had always been in love with Lana’s music since I was a child, this one was a classic but never my favorite but im grown now and now that my mom is gone I understand now. Heaven was a place on earth with her. There’s so many parts to me I didn’t share with anyone including all of the songs I’ve written, one specially for my mom. All of the ways I can sing but never got to for my mom. I know she’s looking down on me right now from heaven and waiting for me to come home to her but I don’t know if I can wait that long. Lana’s music will get me through this just like everything else in the last 13 years of my life. Im so thankful to have grown up in a world where my heart, soul and emotions don’t feel so alone with someone like Lana to help put them into words and music. Im so thankful, so in love. Rest in peace mom. 2/27/1968-1/11/2024.

Exactly I feel nostalgic of the Times when this song was on the radio (so end of 2011 and 2012)
I actually think Lana was ahead of her time with this one since it’s now popular on TikTok to put clips of flowers opening and just beautiful clips together in a video to give the aesthetics kinda
I discovered Lana by 2 different ways. Back 2012 when I was 14 I’d just made my tumblr account and found gifs of this unreal looking beautiful woman which lead me to this music video. It was so different from what other artists at the time had been doing also her music sounded unlike anything at the time as well. I was hypnotized. The second way was I had decided to downloading as many free songs that itunes had been offering and Born to Die was one of them. I was so shocked that a masterpiece of a song was being given for free. But yeah after that I’ve been following her releases since. Thank you tumblr for easing those rough late nights and for helping me discover new music!

But we're getting to the point where if we have emotions we're "triggered" or "weak" and we're in a society where human connections are dying because of the internet and people go round saying "we don't need anyone but ourselves" that's where human connection gets lost so we're not evolving. Music literally IS our last hope.

I listened to this song so much when it first came out. I remember discovering Lana & Born to Die and feeling like I struck gold. And nobody knew who she was. Crazy this video has 341M views. Happy others get to experience this art.

we live in a world where shallow idiots are rich and succesful, when all smart people are sitting home alone and thinking about suicide all the time. believe me. I write novels and the latest one is "too controversial" for this horrible time we live in. no publisher would have said that 20 years ago. it's my best novel and no one wants to publish it. it's my respond to my god Martin Gore's words "where's the revolution? come on, people, you're letting me down" but that's not allowed in my country. only a civil war can save Sweden.

Congratulations finally you got the chance to listen to this masterpiece
you can find all her eras in this piece of visual
Lana del Rey's music makes me feel like it's 1965 instead of 2015. And as a huge 60's fan, it's so beautiful to see an artist today who keeps the past alive like that. I don't know, for some reason when I hear her voice I feel like I'm cruising down a highway in a roofless car with a big puffy polka dotted dress and heart shaped sunglasses on, with a guy in a leather jacket and slicked back hair in the passenger seat. I can literally imagine passing by those 60's diners and stuff and I can honestly say that no other modern music artist is capable of making me feel like this. There is something magical and kind of hauntingly-creepy about how serene her voice is, I feel like her voice is so smooth and calm that she could talk someone into doing anything. I'm surprised that she's not more popular but in reality I'm kind of happy that she isn't because I feel like her songs are mine, if that makes any sense at all. I don't know, there's something really special about Lana. I hope she continues to make mesmerizing music for years to come.

This song changed music. Period. I remember hearing it for the first time in the car in 2011, and looking up some lyrics when i got home to find out who it was. Fast forward to 2019, and the Q awards in London, an awards show not as hindered by favoritism and corruption as many others, named this song as the "song of the decade". Yes, the song of the entire 2010s... in the land of Adele and all lol. And it was fitting. Lana doesnt get the recognition she deserves for her contribution to music.
