Tom Ripley travels to Italy to visit his playboy friend Phillippe Greenleaf and Phillippe's new fiancée, Marge. What Phillippe doesn't know is that his father has paid Tom to convince his son to abandon Europe and return to his family responsibilities in San Francisco. But when Phillippe's family cuts off their funding of Tom's extravagant lifestyle during his covert mission, he discovers another way to maintain his newfound standard of living.

Alain Delon’s eyes are so mesmerizing. His gaze seems so seductive and innocent at the same time. Moreover, it is intense yet tender. I can’t imagine what his co-actress felt while filming this with him but maybe I should point out her eyes are also very beautiful. 💙🖤

well actually she didn’t like him at all. he asked her if she wanted him to f*ck her the first time they met and was despising towards her during the filming. she later described him as « he’s just a pretty face, has no humor, he’s not even smart or funny, an asshole » 😅

En France Marie Laforêt était surnommée "La fille aux yeux d'or". Hélas, je vais vous décevoir car bien plus tard, Marie Laforêt racontera que le tournage de ce film fut épouvantable pour elle tellement Alain Delon a été odieux avec elle qui était débutante au cinéma. Les images illustrent bien la chanson de Lana mais c'est tout le contraire.
