Problems pinging a wireless device from the wired LAN
Why am I unable to ping another computer in the same network (LAN)
The wired LAN connects via main router
When the LAN (Local Area Network) is connected to the Wi-Fi router provided by your internet service provider (ISP), LAN devices connected directly to the router's Port 1 might not be able to communicate with Wi-Fi devices on the same network.
Here's why:
Some ISPs require a specific LAN port, often Port 1, for the fiber optic internet connection to function.Devices plugged into this port (Port 1) may be isolated from Wi-Fi devices on the network.
How to fix, WIFI and LAN can connected
To allow both wired and Wi-Fi devices to connect:
Use a different LAN port (Port 2, 3, or 4) for your ZTE modem's connection. This frees up Port 1 for the fiber optic internet while enabling communication between wired and Wi-Fi devices through the other LAN ports.
