*LAME FROM LYME DISEASE* 😭 RESCUE HORSE MEETS THE ANIMAL CRACKER 🐾

When Dr. Doug visits farms, he works on as many horses as he can - this is RAFIKI, an OTTB that is battling Lyme disease. Lyme disease can cause swollen, painful joints, which can be relieved a bit with a few well placed adjustments.
RAFIKI is a resident at AMARYLLIS EQUINE RESCUE www.amaryllisfarm.com 🐴
HOW TO MASSAGE YOUR DOG is Dr. Doug's beginner-friendly course that takes you step-by-step and teaches you everything you need to know about massaging your dog so that you can create a deep lifelong bond and heal both of you along the way! howtomassageyourdog.com

The leading organization, in my opinion, that has Veterinarians and Chiropractors that become Animal Chiropractors is the Animal Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA)
They have a website with a "Find a Doctor" tab/database: www.animalchiropractic.org
This a good resource for all that are looking for a well trained doctor near them.

I love how the horses always stand there after being cracked with this look of "Did that just happen?"

Love how Rafiki's friend seems to move in and sort of shoo off the dog and say: "Enough attention seaking, the human doesn't want to be disturbed working on my friend". lol

Rafiki is a very handsome older guy with issues from head to toe! His friend seemed to be doing his job, too, by lending moral support. Doc, I'm so glad that you were able to remedy a good many of Rafiki's aches and pains. You do such great things for these wonderful animal sanctuaries. I'm sure grateful for that! Blessings, all!!

This video shows that horses are living, feeling, beings that can get injured and hurt, just like us. They can get colic, arthritis, cataracts. etc. - they are not indestructible machines like some people seem to think they are.

Doc, you were like the horse whisperer in this one. Good energy and vibes at the beginning. I can see why people are drawn to horses. There’s something calming about them. 👍🏽

Dr. Doug, I saw your hand do what I call " Feeling the air", when you walked into the horses space. Animals "project, " an energy that can be felt by some people who are sensitive. You do this a lot even with humans. Special guy you are. ❤️

How cute he wanted to give stormy a scratch while getting a belly scratched himself. Thoroughbreds are so intuitive and social and we'll tell you so much if you just watch and listen

Rafiki responded so well to you working on him Doc. After the poll, neck and spine readjustment you did, when he blew out. That was total relief in for him, even though he didn't lick and chew all the time, him blowing out was acceptance. And with him still being on the medication to combat that stupid Lyme tick he had,he's doing very well all things considered. I'm so glad they caught it so early otherwise it wouldn't have been such a happy ending for him. I hope you go back and we see how he gets on later after his treatment and do another session with him. Thanks for going and helping out once again Doc. Loved how you approached the two of the horses. 💖 💖 Love from your Horse Trainer friend in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 🇨🇦 🇺🇸

👍 Dr Doug, this was such a lovely video to watch. Lovely to see you taking time to introduce yourself to Raviki, and not rushing him. There were lots of very tender, special moments between the two of you. Looks like a lovely horse (lovely 'personality'). And then of course, as ever, there were loads of 'GOT IT!' moments and Raviki is a lucky boy to have had you working on him. I hope he gets better soon and recover over the next few months from the Lyme's Disease. Don't you just hate ticks! 😡

Rafiki is so gentle and sweet! Thank you for your equally gentle treatment! I’m sure what you did for him will help increase the effectiveness of his medication!
