I remember watching Lambert when I was a kid. I cried on the part when none of the baby sheep picked Lambert's mom. It was awesome of Lambert to pick her even though he isn't a sheep. Awesome story of love, courage, and acceptance.

I saw this cartoon in 1994 i was in school. Today it took me 30 years back. How beautiful my childhood was , no mobile, no internet, life was full of fun and friends.

Let this be a lesson to everyone. Never mess with a Mama, especially if her children are bigger than you. That's the best way to have your butt handed to you on a silver platter.

My 6 year old grandson saw this for the first time tonight on NetFlix. When the wolf went off the cliff with that signature cry he said "Grandpa says that!" He's right. I do it playing with the boys and have ever since I was a little kid myself. Fun times.

and sheep *have to breed to have babies or it is just adopting. * and *lion have to breed to make cubs or it IS adopting.* *REALLY.* look it up. like search *lions mating* or *lioness and lion mating*.

My favourite cartoon of all time. Even now, I still watch it before I sleep. It helps me get sleepy. Sheep. Sheep everywhere. 😆😆

This was a nice companion to Dumbo when that movie aired on NBC back in the '80s. Not only does the Stork appear in both, but there are similar themes in both as well. I wish there were a stuffed toy of Lambert in cub form!

+michaeloffgrid Yes! YES! I was trying to remember what the other short was that they showed, and it was Mickey and the Beanstalk. And of course Sterling Holloway (the voice of the stork) was the narrator. I also had it taped off television and watched it over and over. Interestingly ABC Family showed Dumbo a couple of weeks ago and of course I DVRd it, but without Lambert the Sheepish Lion and Mickey and the Beanstalk airing before it, it seemed like something was missing.

I had one growing up! I love this story as a kid and had a Lambert stuffed animal. parents threw him out while i was at college..... Yeah that holiday was not good when i asked where he was

I love Lambert! I loved this cartoon as a kid and still do. I smile every time I hear Lambert say when he is scared, " ....Mama!!" Or Lambert's silly grin. Lambert is an adorable lion! ❤️

The scariest thing about this isn't that wolf that haunts your nightmares. It's that the stork must have also delivered a lamb to a pride of lions too.

Dear Disney people from the past, you should make a full-length movie about a lion. I'm sure it will do well.

For some reason today I started singing "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" lol!!! I had no idea where it came from so I googled it and now I remember from being a kid lol! Thanks this was great to see!

Akaaraq Hansen Disney did Lambert and Osamu tezuka did the Anime Kimba the White Lion and Disney did The Lion King in 1994

I saw this as a kid. When The Lion King was released, Lambert was shown as a short before the movie. My brother and I laughed all the way through.

Remains me of old times when I was clueless and little I used to love this movie and watch it over and over again.... :-/

I love Sterling Holloway. He had the perfect voice for both animation and narration. He was also great as the voice of Winnie the Pooh :)

OMG THIS IS ADORABLE!!! :) Poor little guy... :( He's just like Rudolph... outcast b/c he's different...

If the inspection discovered that stork didn't deliver the Lambert to his mother - for not doing his job, he'd be fired. His mother probably cries for him, thanks to the stork who failed to complete the task given to him. And in fact same stork appeared in Dumbo with different appearance.

Let us not forget!!! That somewhere in a pride land in Africa a little lamb was eaten. I really do not think that the lions were as nice to him or her as the lambs were to Lambert.

Society needs more lamberts

This was my ultimate jam as kid. In fact, I wore out the 40 minute short story VHS. It made me want to hug my dear Mom.

Came out 43 years before The Lion King, and my parents were still young kids (and of course I wasn't even born yet!).

This is like my life story.

The wolf animation at 6:07 is another example of recycled animation from the Make Mine Music segment Peter and the Wolf!

+al 1988 Either the big lions ate the little lamb or the stork delivered him to baby lions who raised the little lamb as a carnivore.

Thought of this cartoon, and tears came to my eyes. Where has all the time gone? Thank you mom for showing me cartoons like this, and all of the Disney movies, and all of the other stuff I would watch as a child. I will cherish them forever. I can't remember when the stork made a mix up for Dumbo. The only things I could remember is that the stork delivered Dumbo to Ms. Jumbo, then he made two rhyming poems to Ms. Jumbo regarding Dumbo, then he made Ms. Jumbo sign for Dumbo, and the last thing was that he sang Happy Birthday for Dumbo (which was part of the rule at the company which he mentioned). Regarding Lambert here, it's unknown how Lambert got into the sack with the other lambs whether he snuck into the sack as it was being packed up or if there were two groups with one group with lambs and the other group with lions where the stork or his boss accidentally put Lambert into the sack of lambs. However, he did try to correct the mistake from 2:07-2:48 but, the sheep wasn't letting him take Lambert away. So who knows, maybe the stork told his boss about the mistake and his boss could have told him that they should let it go if the sheep wasn't going to let them take Lambert away. Also, maybe that lamb that was supposed to go to that sheep with the bell got misdelivered to the lions where Lambert was supposed to go and hopefully that lamb didn't get eaten by the lions. (But yes, if the stork wasn't being careful for making too many misdeliveries as you mentioned, he should be fired).

Good memories of what I got to enjoy in the past. And even today, after I seen the ending of Lambert being carried by the sheep, couldn't help but think of course they would respect him now, since he not only embarrassed them by taking on a wolf while they all hid, but also, since some probably picked on him, now they can't pick on him without the risk of him fighting back.
