I feel Justin Foley (Killswitch Engage),Dan Carle(After The Burial) and Evgeny Novikov(Slaughter To Prevail)deserve some credit as well. Just a personal opinion. Also who could forget Joey Jordison (Slipjlknot) and The Rev (A7X). Sorry to comment so long.

This was one of the first metal songs I heard and it helped me realize the distinct difference between rock and metal. You just can't get this kinda energy outta AC/DC type shit.

There’s one riff in Hourglass that is among the best riffs I’ve ever heard in metal. It’s the one that occurs at about one minute into the song; the way the riff melds with Randy Blythe’s vocals is so so good.

@@rorz999 I agree fully. I was raised very disconnected from technology. My main hobbies since about 6 was reading, acting practice, guitar, chess and physical sports. My sister and i also watched anime behind my mothers back from about 9 or 10. I am 18 now and I am pretty technologically deficient which sucks but there were some benefits to focus, character, patience etc. My brother on the other hand got raised on the computer and gaming since about 6. He never got into music or literature like I did but he is more functional than I am. He got into competitive sport from a young age and maintains a core friend group away from things like twitter, Instagram etc. In the modern age I don't think how I was raised is ideal because I was a bit too unplugged. Like you say its all about balance.

Solid lyrics for sure, but that particular line seems extremely out of place. Why would someone be barred from heaven for snitching on violent criminals that are presumably bound for hell themselves? Then again maybe it works because the entire anti-snitch mindset is irrational so they're intentionally playing up how it doesn't make sense, like that represents the kind of empty boast someone that isn't thinking things through might make?

Walk With Me In Hell is one of their greatest songs by a long shot. Personally my favorite song is one of their singles, The Duke. The vocals aren’t as extreme, but the song is phenomenal and story behind it is emotional. It’s overall an incredible masterpiece of musicianship and lyricism.

The Ashes of the Wake album is an absolute killer. From beginning to end, each track has something distinct to offer but they mix well together. You can tell just off of the production for Lamb of God which songs are off of what album and this is the one where the production nailed their style.

Lamb of God is the most perfectly "metal" metal band of all time imo. Their song writing is amazing, their composition is just incredible. Each member understands exactly what their role is and does their job perfectly. None of the members are ever trying to out-perform any of the others and they all play to the song rather than trying to overplay the song and it results in all of them shining through in their own way.

Gojira had Randy Blythe (Lamb of God lead vocalist) on for a feature in their song "Adoration For None".. It's pretty dope

He really is. For how amazing most of their albums sound, they’re a live band whether club or arena more than a studio band. Tons of metal bands sound good on tape but are a mess live. These guys are one of the best live bands of all time.

"Omerta" in a nutshell, dont call the law, we will handle the situation ourself.

Lamb of God - Vigil. One of their best.

This is one of my favorite LoG songs of all time. It's so damn heavy but so damn rhythmic.

Lamb of God is how alot of people pop their cherry with this style of vocals and once you learn to take it as part of the music, or sonic experience, then it vastly opens up your options in metal.

Please revisit the band Death/ album symbolic. Every song has depth in terms of musicianship and lyrics. Without judgment 🤘🏻❤️

Saw Lamb of God recently on Slayer's tour, can confirm GREAT to see live, they played the crowd insanely well as well.

One of the best live bands out there that still tours.

Walk With Me in Hell has gotta be the next. From start to finish is a head banging, groove filled, raw sound that's just awesome. And seeing Ryan get so excited at the end brings joy to my heart. I had doubts based off the Laid to Rest reaction. Glad you both at least enjoyed it......and thank you Kevin for the request!

They're at similar levels of popularity according to last.fm and I think Mastodon just captures more of the American metal scene stylistically.

Finally!!! I think omerta was requested for a looooong time now by many people

“Walk With Me In Hell” or “Again We Rise” would be great LoG songs to check out. I personally thought the “Sacrament” album was head and shoulders above the rest of their discography, even though Ashes Of The Wake is amazing.
