You could purchase an English to Lakota dictionary, that would atleast be a good start.

As a Slavic speaker, to me this sounds like mixture of Hungarian and Japanese. Anyways good to hear how native American tongue sounds.

His voice is easy to listen to, beautiful and full of wisdom

Here you have translated "akhé wičhóni waštéšte waŋúŋyaŋkapi kte." this way: "we will see good human lives again." But, because of the inanimate plural "waštéšte", I think it is better to translate in like this: "we will see good lifes again". It was your own translation on the forum in 2015. What do you think about it?

Speaking Sundance. I haven't seen it recorded so I'm only able to speculate. I practice Martial Arts, right? I am trying to, at least. So, when I go to the Dojo twice a week and receive a few punches, I know I kind of "regulated" my Karma, if that makes sense. Roughly speaking, that was Shamanism is to me.

In 1940, American scholar Joseph Epes Brown wrote a study of Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ and its relevance in the Sioux ideology of "underlying connection" and "oneness." He noted how the phrase has been misappropriated and misused as a slogan and salutation by peoples from outside the Lakota cultures. Francis White Bird asserts that only Lakota can use this phrase because it applies only to Lakota culture. Regardless it has become a sign of recognition by all peoples of native ancestry, especially those who are alienated from tribal tradition. After years of abuse, death and genocide I can understand these perspectives, but after living with Lakota traditionalists for 3 years, as a white man, I came away with an understanding as taught by the elders that the four colors, the four directions, the four nations and the intent of Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ applied universally. That the message brought by White Buffalo Calf Women was a universal message. Floyd Hand, a Sioux medicine man from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, said the birth of the white buffalo calf, would affect all human beings, not just Native Americans. "It's an omen that's bringing a change and a new world. you spell Tȟuŋkášila here with an "h" but i mostly see it spelled like this with the h missing Tuŋkášila. I am trying to understand the correct spelling or if both can be considered correct. Appreciate the help.

Because originally Lakota was not a written language, when people started using the Latin script different orthographies developed. The one that I use has all these different diacritics, which might look difficult at first, but actually makes it really easy to read. For example, in older texts you'd often read tunkasila. Native speakers know how to pronounce this. However, students of Lakota who are not familiar with every word and pronounciation, might not now that the t has a guttural sound attached to it, the un is actually a nasal vowel were the n is not pronounced at all, and that the s is pronounced as sh. To solve this "problem" different orthographies were developed and I find this one to be the most easy one. The ȟ denotes the guttural sound, the vowel-ŋ combination denotes a nasal vowel and the š denotes a sh sound instead of the plain s sound. This is the orthography developed and used by the Lakota Language Consortium, which is getting more and more standardized. Does that help? :)

yes, this helps and is very much appreciated. The Lakota language is a beautiful language. So rich in meaning in so few words. A lot to learn. Is there a website that ow would consider the best place or any other suggestions?
