The song is Shining On from Julianna Hatfield's album How to Walk Away. It somehow reminds me of home. By the way, I know the person who purchased the house at the corner of Clifton & Nicholson. He is doing an incredible job of restoring this home.

Lakewood has something for everyone, that's what makes the city so great. As I've moved on, I'm thankful to have come from such a dynamic environment. I feel like I can talk to just about anyone. Small minded comments from others don't really bother me and certainly don't have any impact on my view of the great city I grew up in.

Boy, I sure would love to know where those old homes were located. Do any of them still stand? Have entire streets built up around them? Etc.... Very cool! Thanks!

jc smith I worked at Miller's in high school, the sticky buns, OMG. Little did people know was how big Miller's was. Yes, there was a kitchen on the main level of the restaurant which there was a grill cook that prepared anything charbroiled and there was a steam table with 5 people putting the meals together. The main kitchen was in the basement where stood about 10 elderly ladies preparing all of the great comfort foods Miller's was known for. They would make large pots of whatever the items of the day were, put the food into large metal steam table pans and place them on the dumb waiter which sent the hot food to the kitchen upstairs! It was genius because they would run five or six different specials daily and be able to keep up with demand. Their food was pretty good too.

Lakewood is similar to the East Cleveland of yesteryear. Here's hoping Lakewood never falls apart, because if it does, the Republicans will abandon this city in a heartbeat, just like they did in East Cleveland.
