Lake Winnipesaukee , New Hampshire - Bass Fishing Tournament - 2 Day STQT Tournament

Спорт

Let me start out by saying this was my experience with this years STQT, here in New Hampshire. Some days are set a certain way, and...well...others are different. Day 1, for me, was rather successful. I had 6 pounds and was right in the pack having great ability to leap forward on day 2. Well, on Day 2, that day was just a very fun day with a very cool guy. Not so great on the fishing side of things, as we both just caught 1 dink by the end of the day and gave in a few minutes early. We tossed our dink fish back into the waters and off we went.
I just want to take a moment to thank New Hampshire BASS Nation President John Foster for an exceptional opportunity and experience here at the NH STQT. I'd also like to thank Brian Emerson who is my club (North Country Bronzebacks) president, and without whom I wouldn't have been given the chance to do cool things like this. Finally, thanks to my boaters Jon Oppenheim and Leo Lavin IV. Each boater gave me a truly epic experience for my first time fishing on Winnipesaukee and I genuinely wouldn't change a thing or the outcome (Leo, I'm looking your direction :D )
At the end of it all, my fellow club member Cam Sterritt took out the competition and nailed 1st place in the overall standings! This is just fantastic! He goes on to fish nationally and hopefully make his way up the ranks. Congrats to you good sir!

Sup Kris. Found an oldie again lol. Friends and I stayed at uncle's house to hunt and had time to go there about 10yrs ago, was worth the drive from Seabrook lol. 3 of us on his boat they nailed smallmouths, I didn't get 1 lol. But cought best largemouth and most. I was hoping tho. Great video. Bass help but it's great spending time with friends. Learned that most this year.🎣 Ty tc

Thanks for checking it out Ron. The place can be great especially when you find em, but as you saw on 2nd day in this video....it can be extremely challenging when we're not in the right spots.

I have seen you in a few tournaments where you are a visitor on the boat. Is this something that is offered through a club or certain tournaments? Good way for someone new to tournaments to learn.

I'm not entirely sure actually. This video is a few years old and I've moved on from Bass boat tournaments, and now I compete in Kayak Bass Fishing tournaments. I got sick of being the Co-Angler and not in charge of my own boat. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you get the answer you're looking for, and sorry I could not help.

Has anyone mentioned to you as a non boater that proper etiquette would be not to cast past the console to the front of boat?

  • @MrTightLines

Not at all. But if a boater is going fast on a trolling motor then I will cast 45° ahead so that my retrieve will come back to me straight instead of behind the boat and start dragging faster than I want to retrieve (especially when fishing a rubber worm, drop shot or other fineness tactics). I've fixed this all in the last couple years, by competing in Kayak Bass Fishing Tournaments instead. Since I can't afford a Bass Boat, I can compete on my own terms out of a kayak instead. In this video that I'm linking I went back to Winni and got 2nd place (almost 1st) out of 85 yak anglers and I won $1100: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qX5qxrizh8m3mqw.html Thanks for watching and commenting! I wish you well. :)

@@MrTightLines well there were several instances especially on the catches with your day one angler where the boat was not moving and you were landing fish from wayyy up front like 11’oclock on spooks. It is something I would be mindful of as a non boater. I fish many tournaments as boater and used to as non boater and the console has always been the invisible line as a general rule of thumb. I would think you would want someone tell you here versus an unpleasant conversation on the water in the future. Not trying to be an a hole, it’s just the right thing to do.

@@brianwalachy8685 oh I very much appreciate it! The boater had noticed we were on fish and he was actually telling me to cast that direction. Never ran into an issue co-angling and I did it for 3 years. I suppose I could’ve just got really decent boaters each time. Again, no worries and I really appreciate you reaching out to make sure I knew. I didn’t take offense. Thanks!

If your consistently catch rock bass you need to move out to deeper off shore spots
