We decided to go on a snowboarding trip (for the first time ever!) on Valentine's Day Weekend 2019.
Unfortunately, all of our planning and preparation amounted to nothing. A winter storm canceled all Reno flights, forcing us to fly into Sacramento after wasting an entire day waiting around in the Houston airport.
After landing in Sacramento, we tried to find a car to drive us 2 hours up the mountain into Lake Tahoe. We found a car service who said they could do it... but they couldn't. They got us up halfway, stranding us and forcing us to seek refuge in a random motel.
The next morning, we finally came to the conclusion that this winter storm is going to make it impossible for us to make it up the mountain. We decided to call the vacation weekend a failure and booked a flight back home to Houston.
