    If I remember correctly, this was the first time Betty White went full in like that. Shocked df out of a LOT of people. This was her comeback. This is when she was cemented in the hearts of most people. I haven't watched this since she passed, and it was so bittersweet to see her in that role that launched her career into the stratosphere. After the movie, she never lacked roles and usually amazing ones. I'm one who grew up watching The Golden Girls, so she's held a special place in my heart. RIP Legend

    Just wanted to say that I love your channel. Been watching for a few months now. I lost my little sister unexpectedly on Tuesday. She was only 31. Im trying to figure out how to live with this pain and most of the things I can listen to, read, play or watch remind me of her because we shared everything. Your videos are one of the few things I can watch that makes me smile and even laugh. Thank You.

    First time I watched this movie, I went in blind. I knew there was a big crocodile, but that was it. It became one of my all time favourite movies. So funny! Betty White is the Queen. The sheriff and rich guy fighting. All of it. It's such a hilariously good time, funnier than most comedies and better jumpscares than most horrors.

    "I'm rooting for the crocodile. I hope he swallows your friends whole. You might want to arrest me for that too. Is that a crime?" Fun Fact: In the hospital, someone can be heard paging Mr. Miner in the background. Lake Placid (1999) was directed by Steve Miner. Killer Croc Fact: The crocodile, either as CGI or animatronic, has about 3 minutes and 43 seconds of screentime. The man who created the crocodile for the film was none other than Stan Winston. Winston was also the creator of the monsters in Aliens (1986) and Jurassic Park (1993). Gun Enthusiast Fact: Sheriff Keough's (Brendan Gleeson) "big gun" was a fake gun made specifically as a prop for this movie, as opposed to just putting blanks in a real gun. They even gave it a fake name, calling it a "Light Weight Forward Area Air Device Unit" which itself is a pretty good parody of military jargon. It was not an M-203 grenade launcher, which fires 40mm grenades. The "grenades" shown with the gun were a good deal smaller than 40mm.

    This came out during the summer of large underwater monsters, circa 1999. Deep Blue Sea is another one. I never would have thought that I would laugh so hard going into this. People were roaring at the Betty White scenes. The Golden Girl went ham. If you notice that in the party scene, Hector does a version of the Carleton dance for a brief moment.

    It’s a great movie because it could’ve easily just been a straight up horror film with some no names that would’ve been forgotten but not only is it a great cast but it was brilliance to turn it into essentially a comedy even though it isn’t advertised as that. It does what so many horrors forget to do today which is to actually make characters you care about and the best way to do that is have them bounce off each other using humour.

    Yeah, I will always re-watch this. Bridget Fonda is Henry Fonda's granddaughter, good acting history in her family - Henry, Peter, Jane, and Bridget. I think maybe Bridget is Peter's kid. And of course the whole cast was just great for this. Um, the sequels get progressively less good I think, though they're fun too. 9:08 Moose like being in marshes, from my understanding. I saw a wild moose once in my life, going down a dirt road in the Colorado mountains in the middle of the state when I was on an elk hunting trip when I was 13. It was a cow (female) moose standing in a big open marsh area at the base of a mountain. But, not to mention, all animals need to drink, and that's pretty much how crocodiles catch their prey.

    I think the closest we've gotten to a croc this size of being 30 feet was Gustave who is notorious for being a man-eater, rumored to have killed as many as 200-300 people. Though the actual number of victims is difficult to verify(also had a horror movie based off him) and rumor is he's long since passed but who knows. There was also a 12 footer in Australia, that was the biggest recorded there in the wild a lady shot and killed it when it tried to attack her daughter i believe the story went, in captivity it's cassius who's 17 ft and he's a guiness world record holder! additional fun fact. Croc's immune system is so overcharged/powerful they fight off and don't get HIV even when directly infected.

    The one shot in Australia by the polish woman was 28ft long or 8.6 meters. I believe that there were probably bigger ones shot earlier in the century. She was a croc hunter. Even today is quite common in northern Australia to see plenty of crocs over the 15ft mark. One that ate 2 tourists a few years back was probably around 20 ft in length.

  • @MadRhetorik.

    @MadRhetorik.

    6 ай бұрын

    Gustave was estimate to be in the 20 foot range. Lolong is the largest officially measured crocodile at 20 ft 3 inches but has since died. Alot of the saltines in Australia push 15 feet on the regular with some of the big ones crusing 19-20 feet it seems. There are tales of crocs taken in older times measuring up to 28 feet but none officially measured and the ones who did have their skulls kept were measured and extrapolated to be in the 17 feet range. I still believe large specimens exist that are pushing 21 feet. Anything north of 21 feet right now would be highly speculative until a specimen is caught and measured.

    "Point of No Return" - 1993 action/secret government agent. Impressive music soundtrack. Staring Bridget Fonda (female lead in this movie). Consider reacting!

    A couple of movies I highly recommend for the channel with two of the stars from that. Bridget Fonda in Nikita and Oliver Platt in Diggstown. Diggstown is a fun movie.

    Alligators are dark colored with a broad , rounded snout and are usually found In fresh water. Crocodiles are grayish-green and prefer coastal, brackish and salt water habitats

    A good Bridget Fonda movie is Point of No Return and a good Oliver Platt movie is the 1993 version of The Three Musketeers. You're right though, Betty White is the GOAT!

    Hello, you know that little yellow airplane. A Piper P-18 Cub. If you ever are able to get up next to one and look inside. It is surprising how little airplane there actually is inside it. They fought World War II with a lesser powered version of that plane. They are terrific.

    Unpopular opinion, I think, but it’s actually one of my absolute favorites in the series. Something about Chris Rock and Jet Li combined with the usual magic from the rest of the cast…man, it really landed for me.

    Moose swim. A regular croc would take one down in the water, but even a normal croc can get over 20 feet and weigh more than a ton, strongest bite of any animal also. Hippos and crocs live in the same areas. Crocs are scared of full grown hippos, one hippo will have many crocs move out the way, they have been known to bite crocs in half.
