its not an adventure. its a man made lake with man controlled water levels. simple as that.

The jet boat that you always showed was pulled out by some youtubers who took it home cleaned it up went through the jet drive and actually freed- up the stuck motor and got it running good without rebuilding it. They located the owner and had him come out to take a ride in it and tell them the story about how it sank. It's on youtube.

Well full would take multiple years worth of rain and proper water management. Especially the management part has been ignored for many many years and only when the lake was nearing the "omg, the dam isn't producing power" the management became concerned. Lake Mead has been dropping for decades and politicians were just basically ignoring it as long as they could (usually the length of their term)

Lake mead holds a special place in my heart. Glad its filling up, I got scared there for a while. Also, really enjoy your vids, they're just so down to earth. Also, thanks for throwing in some comparison footage from when lake mead was low. Its crazy to think that the water has risen so much!

That last boat you were asking about is about a 1979 or 80 SKV Day cruiser either a 22 or 24 ft

I remember fishing the striper boils on Powell. I used a silver Zara spook top water bait. Nothing like hammering 4-5 pound stripers on nearly every cast! Good times!

I love all your videos, especially Lake Mead. I have always wanted to go there but I live in eastern Kentucky. The boat by the tower is a Runabout "ski" boat. It looks like a late 80's or early 90's Wellcraft. With a Chevy V6 or V8 engine. Keep the videos coming guys!!

It's summer vacation time for the kids in So Cal and we haven't put up the above ground pool yet because it's been overcast for most of May and so far all of the first week of June. Glad you guys are enjoying more water for fishing and the people of NV and AZ don't have to worry as much as the past couple of years but it's been strange.

This youtube algorithm is nuts, the last video I saw of you guys you reporting on the video recording restrictions and you had to get like a $200 permit and that was hit or miss. A boat was pulled out of Lake Powell with permission by Fab Rats and Marlins old School Garage got it running and gave it back to the owners

That short vocal performance by the lady in the beginning of the video reminds me of a song, Buried Alive in the Blues sung to me in the late 70's by a lady named Mickie Shank. It gives me goose bumps to this day...

Its good to see Mead actually has some life left in it same with Powell because I mean like after 30 years of drought in southwest USA all the key rivers and reservoirs are still holding on well and Mead is estimated to rise 10-20 ft and Powell 65 ft by the end of the year so that is good!

I flew over the rockies on the 25th of May and on June 6th and the amount of snow is astonishing and the lake being as low as it has been could be a blessing because I was around and remember when it filled up and ran over for 3 months and started eating away the overflow tunnels

So happy to see the lake back to normal. Love boating on this lake. Yes El Niño is here so they say. But god answered our prayers here in California. 🥰

Saw a show where they pulled one of the boats out of Lake Mead. It was yellow and they refurbished it. The original engine fired up, there was a life vest still in it's original packaging. The traced the vin and found the original owners and they got to see their boat restored from the 70's they had lost in the lake. It was pretty cool. Love you guys BTW

I spent every weekend in the 80's at that lake. You cant even see the water from, where we used to launch. I still have great memories of chasing the boils for Striper too. The 80's were the best time to be out at the lake. Good times.

I managed a 5 acre pond on my property for almost 10 years. From 40 year old established earthen damed pond to completely drained and refilled because the drain had failed. Very similar situation. In 18 months time it went from a vibrant pond to a mud hole then on to dry land with vegetation and back to a fully functioning pond. That was about 6 years ago. I pulled out a beautiful 6 pound large mouth bass out of that pond last month. It was so fulfilling to be part of nature in such an intimate way.

I've got a good friend from Georgia that used to sell those Cockleburs (we call them cuckleberries down south) as porcupine seeds back in the day to the younger classmates. When his Mom found out, she made a lasting impression on him. 🤣🤣

Can't believe the skyward boat is up past the controls already again things change so fast down there. If the USBR predictions are accurate it should be completely submerged again before next summer...

Yea the last boat you asked about...red and white looks like....thats definitely a 70's boat and that style was called a "day cruiser". Very popular back then. Hard to determine the manufacturer since it's got no markings, but Spectra and Hallet were both companies that sold a ton of those. Available with prop or jet.

Nice to see you guys back on lake Mead, Its rewarding to see that you are catching lots of fish.

Thank you for sharing your day. I was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base from 67 to 70. Use to go fishing with a guy that worked in security at the old frontier casino. We always went fishing on the river below the dam. Had some good times fishing on the river below the dam.

Love you guys! when I watch your program I feel like I am right on the lake. Keep on fishing and filming.

We used to call them "Mini Day cruisers" or "Day Cruisers" depending on size. They were powered by BERKLEY Jet Pumps. Hull could have been called a "Hawaiian" or "Fantasia" or an Omega. There were a lot of custom boat builders in So Cal. Everything got swallowed up by the big boat dealers and put everyone else out of business, especially with California's laws on working with fiberglass resin.

It's great to see that the lake has gone up that much. Always nice to see your updates. That red and white boat is known as a cabin cruiser (style of boat) what brand I could tell you. I agree... the weather has been weird this year. For June, even in this High Desert area of Southern California, it's been unseasonably colder than usual. Keep up the good work.

You guys make me smile. I've been watching the "lakes online" app showing the water of Lake Mead going up & up. What goes around, comes around.

Have you guys thought about doing fishing charters? I did that when I went to Vegas. On lake mead. Just a couple retired businessmen who did it. Nothing fancy. Just took us out for a 4 hours of fishing. Then they dropped us off and had another couple coming. It was fun… we trolled a bit. Caught stripers. We could’ve kept them but we didn’t so they kept them and said they sold them to local restaurants for good money.

Don't get too excited, guys. Mead has to release another 3.9 maf downstream by September 30th. That's 15% of it's total capacity in the next 115 days. Powell is gearing up to start sending water to Mead which, in turn, will have to be released down through Hoover to meet the legal minimum requirement. Enjoy the water while it's there.

@@jugogaming I didn't mean to be rude to that other chap. Hey, Mead dropped 28 feet in 2022 and 20 feet in 2021. A 10 feet drop this year will be considered a success by BuWreck. My main point was that Lake Mead, as of June 7th, is behind in its 'payments' and is legally required to release another 3.86 million acre feet of water by September 30th. The total capacity of Mead is 25.877 maf. It currently holds just over 8 million acre feet of water. I believe Hoover Dam can generate electricity at levels as low as 950 so there is no worry there. Lake Powell basically controls how much water ends up Lake Mead. Powell is legally required to deliver 7.5 million acre feet to Lake Mead each Water Year. In terms of where we are in the Water Year, Powell is now slightly ahead of its obligation to release downstream. Powell wants to hold on to as much of this bumper runoff as possible but will have to release far more water than is required to help Mead meet its own obligation. Powell will release just enough to ensure Mead scrapes past the 9 maf mark by September 30th. This is why Lake Mead will be back to 1040-45 next April 2024. The rules were drawn up 101 years ago by a bunch of idiots.
