@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 Yea sure, but by then you would miss a lot of historic time-lapse shots. Just carry a white UW protecting hat and parasol (no, it is not just for women: all kings had "parasol carriers" for thousands of years). Those items should protect you totally. It's amazing how some Americans don't appreciate how even small increases in water level over such a large surface area indicate how the whole acquifer is recharging both visible and underground. Such a pity that polluting items like that boat are not removed.
I was out there on Mon.
We had no "monsoon storms" this year (2023) so water level is only up a tad from the little rainfall that we actually got.
Looks like someone put a pole or marker of sort on the “old” vertical boat, hopefully add on a bright flag or sort; how that thing hasn’t gotten hit by other boaters is pretty amazing.
@jessiesdroneadventures7464
10 ай бұрын
I agree! Surprised no one has hit it yet, but at the same time I'm sure a lot of people that boat out there are very familiar with it, but having the pole sticking out from the top is a good way to let newbies out there know that something is there
Every home and business should install a rain water collection and storage system along with solar panels. Even in areas where rain is infrequent it is crazy to waste the little rain that does fall and waste it. We need to stop planting green lawns and switch to local native plantings around homes. It is crazy to plant lawns and build golf courses in dry desert areas. We waste too much water and electricity.

Right! You could smell that odor from quite a ways away 😔
It looks like Lake Mead is still has a LONG ways to go. It has another 163 or so feet to rise. I wonder as the water level dropped was any bodies recovered of people who drowned and where not found.

Oh yea! Many body's and remains were found when the water level was dropping back in the summer of 2022. Some were identified and others were.....many more down there
Hi
I stopped researching Lake Mead, since the lake is really controlled by forceful flows in and out. The lake level almost has nothing to do with recent rains.
LMAO Your description of the smells 💩 I'm dying 🤣

They did a little bit
"...a costly process?" To remove a boat? Drive to the boat, back the boat trailer up to the bow of the boat, attach the boat to the trailer winch, turn the hand crank lever until the boat is on the trailer, secure the boat to the trailer, drive to the dump. You're out, what? Gas money, a little time and the cost of disposal.
Fun fact: 1 inch of water in Lake Mead = 2 Billion Gallons of water.

Did you ever notice my Downtown Las Vegas/Freemont St, drone question on a previous video from a few days ago?
@jessiesdroneadventures7464
10 ай бұрын
I don't believe I saw it....but what was the question?
@flolou8496
10 ай бұрын
It was something I overheard you saying about not allowing drones to fly within 5 miles of an airport, (Well, the link's I doublechecked showed it's a little over that from say the Golden Nugget to Harry Reid, but not owning a drone myself, maybe the question is mute, because Google Maps and other similar driving distance map directions on the internet, always use paved road by car or walking as the method of judgement for distance, so how exactly does ''airspace'' miles get figured out? (is there a big enough difference, your probably under that 5 mile rule of thumb?) (a straight line of line from downtown/Freemont in the sky is probably like 5 miles , so I don't know, maybe not worth the risk, which is too bad, (no body has ever done it before and it would be really cool to see, before the weather changes and the large crowds disappear by Nov 1st)
@nolanball9745
10 ай бұрын
@@flolou8496airspace is as a bird flies straight line, typically in expanding circles like an upside down wedding cake, you can google image the airspace of just about any airport and see the diagram. That 5 miles is class B airspace and very heavily monitored/controlled

That is just our Park Service being lazy to clean up anything. 3 inches of rain is nothing here in Alabama that is just a typical T Storm.

I'm curious as to why when the lake levels were so low in the past year. Why the boats or objects weren't removed when the water level was so low. Sure I understand that the ground might be soft and heavy objects could sink. Just wondering why the boats were not removed?

Because they are lazybones?
Interesting but very, very little change. This is just normal weather swings. When wet it will be much wetter than before, droughts will be harsher and longer, high temperatures much higher, equally low temperatures will keep hitting new lows. Put more energy into a system and it becomes unstable. What you are getting now is more instability. In many places these swings will make areas unable to support human habitation. Regular inundation or temps above 50C (122F) removes agriculture. Actually very interesting. I would expect agriculture to go first.
