This 8 mile hike in the Lake District Southern Fells takes in two Wainwrights.
Long, STEEP ascent to Sca Fell, with a rough finish of boulders & loose scree.
Pathless descent from Slight Side, then somewhat vague & boggy until back on the bridleway from Burnmoor Tarn.

Thank you. It was a good day apart from the clag on the summit of Sca Fell.

It was great apart from right on the top Sally. That’s twice I’ve done Sca Fell with no view from the top - third time lucky…
I was going to do these two Wainwrights from Wha House, but you've gave me another option. Thanks for sharing

The first time I did them was from Wha House, via Fox’s Tarn. That’s a LONG route (before I started filming too). Although this one is STEEP and a bit pathless & potentially boggy, I think I actually preferred it. Let us know which route you go for. Oh, and benefit of Wha House is you don’t have to fork out £9 to park!
