I lived in Lake City growing up. I consider it home even though I have lived there for over 40 years. I still have family there. Thank you for the film of the town…brought back lots of memories.

Oh man....I've been trying my entire life to get back here. We stay, my family more than once in those cabins @ 0.16. Of course that was a long time ago. I fell in love with that place. I dunno if I'll ever get back, I hope. Thanks for making the video. The streets and buildings are so familiar. Edit: That church at 2:09....OMG I've not seen that in such a long time! Wow...that's cool...I know what it is, why I want back there. I felt more close to the Lord there. Not that the Lord isn't everywhere. But there, I felt my best.

I read on a Quora post that analyzed every county in the U.S. to determine which place is the best place to be during an apocalypse and Hinsdale County, CO was the final contender.

Planning a trip to Lake City this summer. Anyone know the availability of 4wd rentals there that can make it up that road to Nellie Creek Trailhead? What about motels/ vacation rentals?

I've been to Lake city problems about 40 times and I know all the places:)!

We love going to Lake City, Creede, and Ouray and through all of the scenic drives and byways because it's beyond gorgeous and has very personal signifigance in our hearts. We love to drive down to the San Juans at least twice a month from our hometown of Denver! We feel super happy and super lucky to be native Coloradans! 😁❤

@@AirstreamArgosy The Lake City Brewing Company is awesome, but looks like you missed that. The Sportsman has some pretty good fudge. We've stayed in most of the places in town at one time or another over the last 40 years. Our favorite place in Colorado.

My husband and I years ago honeymooned there. I was frm Gunnison and love that little town. Alfred Packer grave was once there. Has it been moved? Heard it was.

Any avalanches in the winter? Uh, how's the Wi-Fi there?

I used to live there for many years. As far as avalanches go I've never seen a major one in town, some down CR 30 but again nothing too major. The WIFI can be pretty bad depending on who your ISP is. If you move there and are looking for good WIFI go with century link. It's not the best but you can stream videos and play games with no problems, and you can always upgrade to the fiber optic option which is expensive but top of the line.

I’m sorry, but this is unwatchable because of the loud music.
