Lake Baccarac ~ Six Largemouth Bass Over 10 lbs

Спорт

Back in October 2018, my good friend Big Fish Jeff and I had the distinct pleasure to fish Lake Baccarac in Mexico and to once again, stay at the world Famous Lake Baccarac Lodge, - which is - The Best In Bass. www.lakebaccaraclodge.com/
The fishing there is like nothing else I’ve ever experienced in my 50 plus years of bass fishing and during this particular 6 ½ Days of fishing - it was even better than that.
Between the two of us, we landed so many truly giant bass, that at times it didn’t seem real. 53 bass over 7 lbs was our total for the trip and by far our best ever.
There was a full moon in the middle of our trip and I can’t say if that had anything to do with how nuts the bite was that week - But I held, weighed, videoed & took pictures of more Giant Bass . . . .
It Was In-Sane.
Lake Baccarac Lodge is renowned for its bass over 10 pounds - they call them “Grandes” - It’s what we go there to catch. And although they are caught there on what seems like an almost weekly basis, Grandes are rare & special fish, each and every one. And to land even one on a trip, is cause for celebration.
In this video you will see the six Grandes we put in the boat that week.
Thanks for watching and if you ever get a chance to visit Lake Baccarac Lodge,
I highly encourage you to do it.
There’s no place else like it.
Good Talkin’ To Ya !

Thanks - That was an incredible 6 1/2 days of bass fishing. As the Giants kept going into the net, over and over again, it didn't seem real. Jeff and I kept looking at each other and asking, "Is this really happening?" Lake Baccarac is a very special and one of a kind fishery. Hard to get to but worth every bit of it. #bucketlist

Thanks for watching Nolan ~ Jeff & I have been fishing exclusively with Manuel one or two times a year since 2013. He's like a brother at this point. His Knowledge of that huge lake & Big Fish Savvy is like magic to watch - to say he has the Mojo is an understatement - and you know what that's like. . . . .

Thanks ~ Here's some tackle & bait info from this trip . . . We both fish heavy action travel casting rods (Fenwick & G.Loomis), Shimano & Quantum 200 & 300 size casting reels, and 20-25 lb Seaguar InvizX & Tatsu Fluorocarbon line. Big Gear is a MUST here. Early morning & near sunset, fish can be shallow in the bushes. We used 7 inch stickbaits & mag flukes weightless on a 7/0 EWG hook. Caught several score-able bass this way. Later in the mornings, mid-day and through much of the afternoons we fished deeper on mid-lake humps, off long points, steeper drop offs and deep flats in 10 - 30 feet. We took fish on 6 & 7 inch Swimbaits, ½ & ¾ oz underspins with 5-6 inch hollow belly & solid swimbait trailers, ¾ oz shakey & football heads with 10 inch worms, 7 inch stickbaits and mag fluke trailers. During the afternoon of the first full day of fishing, we started finding the bigger fish suspended in 10-20 feet over 40-60 feet of water over main lake humps and in front of major points. The underspins and the swimbaits were getting choked - the likes of which I have not ever experienced. This bite lasted pretty much the rest of the trip and theses suspended fish accounted for at least 75 % of the score-able bass we caught. It got completely nuts.

@@slyfox720 Sounds Good - We ALWAYS fly Charter/Private Air from DFW straight to the runway at the Lodge. Couple of stops for gas & to clear Customs but it's really the best way to go. Book it through the Lodge - Chad can help you. Cost more but totally worth it.
