Yes, it is a very colourful and beautiful place! We feel very lucky to be here at Lake Atitlan and have the chance to explore villages like this one. We are in Guatemala for 6 months so many more videos from this amazing country will be released! 🌈🇬🇹

Thanks guys! Yeeees, it's amazing how colourful this little town is! I wish they were painting grey cities in Europe. Then it wouldn't be so depressing the day we have to go back 🌈

It's great to see them rebuilding the road. Last time I rode my motorcycle there a few months ago, I swore I'd never go back due to how bad the road was. Now that I've moved back to Pana, I'll have to take a ride there.

Lake Atitlan Guatemala looks amazing. Thanks for the great information. Do you think Lake Atitlan would be a good destination for families with young kids?

Yes, I think so! It's not the typical family destination but if we had kids we would definitely take them to Lake Atitlan. There are many airbnbs around the lake so you can choose a child friendly house next to the lake with a garden or maybe a pool. Then you can do day trips to the little villages around the lake. You can rent kayaks, visit the nature reserve in Panajachel and do smaller hikes with our without a guide depending where you plan to go. We will release more videos from Lake Atitlán so if you check them out you can compare the different villages and choose one that fit your family.

Do you think it is a safe destination for a solo female traveler?

We feel Lake Atitlán is a very safe area as long as you are in the towns around the lake. If you want to do hikes around the lake it is recommended to always have a guide no matter if you are a female solo traveller or a couple. For more specific questions about solo traveling in Guatemala we recommend you to join the Facebook group Girlfriends in Antigua or Expats living in Guatemala where there are many helpful members who can give you more details.
