Well tbh, I was never really into Laibach and it was more out of curiosity than anything else, but thanks anway.
I like this literal translation of the chant. "Glory to the shining remover of darkness."
I absolutely love this song. Even better than the Beatles version.

I agree a really good friend introduced me to this version and oh my gosh!
Discovered their Sympathy for the Devil cover a few years back and thought it was a good laugh. Only just now have I gotten around to looking into their other music. Fucking hell, this was extraordinary.
When I feel the world has become unbearably stupid and dumb, I know where to look for intelligent life and restore my faith in humanity... Thank you, Laibach!

+laa music, that's moving, but when I show this version to average Beatles fans, I usually see FEAR in their faces... That's interesting because they don't get outraged as the usual radical fan gets with most covers - they get SCARED of the Laibach version!

Irakli Mgaloblishvili, you need to understand that Laibach never does anything for ordinary reasons and there is always a subtext. So, it's not just a matter of comparing versions and judging which one is better. They didn't want to just make a new version of the song for one to compare (in fact, they made a cover of the *entire* "Let It Be" album, titled it the same and even made a similar sleeve). They wanted to *reinvent* the song. One of their specialties is to find disturbing things where one least expects. Another example is the cheeky "Life Is Life" song by Austrian pop group Opus that became a fearsome martial hymn suggesting a totalitarian propaganda piece - all that without changing the lyrics! You can find both versions on KZread - the difference is striking and that's *on purpose*.

Apsolutno. Glasovno, aranžmanom.. toliko klasično zato je večito ,prefinjeno sa dušom sa ukusom lepe muzike. Duhovno, kao neki prelepi madrigal.Ili molitva u Vensmisterskoj crkvi ili grčkom hramu. Vanvremeno... To je ozbiljna umetnost.

Every now and then, a cover song surpasses the original. Like Bauhaus doing 'Ziggy Stardust' or Fuzzbox doing 'Pop Muzik'. This is one of those times.

Obrada tuđe pesme...Oni su Slovenci propalice, intelektualno-umetnički onanisti i mistifikatori, Life is life, Slowenische Kunst i arijska mitomanija, rame uz rame sa separatistima, a cvileli su kad su bili pod kulturnom hegemonijom Austrije, tada im germanska kultura nije delovala glamurozno...Njihove " mistične" poruke se ustvari svode na univerzalne tj antropološke fenomene: Narcisoidnost, naciocentričnost, potrebu za mitskim i grandioznim, i naravno-GREŠNOST...Kako li će jednom pred Tvorcem crveneti jer su nosili onakvu odeču i obeležja koja su pripadala onima koji su mučili i ubijali milione ljudi...

I think The Beatles travelled into the future, stole this song and thus made a cover of it :P I have ALWAYS loved Laibach's version. I used to play it do my daughter when she was a little bub. I'd play the record and she would search for the little girl laughing at the end. Literally would look behind the speaker. To this day, despite being into R&B, she still likes the song and knows Laibach and the video :)
