LAGOS STATE'S MOBOLAJI JOHNSON TRAIN STATION. IS THIS THE AFRICA'S BEST STATION?

Mobolaji Johnson train station, Lagos State.
The Mobolaji Johnson train station in the Ebute Metta district is the most important train station in Lagos , the largest city in Nigeria . It is also the largest train station in West Africa with a capacity of 6,000 passengers. The station was built by the Chinese China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation under the direction of the Nigerian Railway Corporation . The building was inaugurated on June 10, 2021 along with the double-track standard gauge line to Ibadan , replacing the dilapidated Ebute Metta station building from colonial times. The station was named after the first governor of Lagos after independence, Mobolaji Johnson .
In 2021, it replaced the Lagos Terminus train station , also known as Iddo train station, which marks the end point of the Cape Gauge line a few kilometers south, as the city's most important train station. This will apparently be used as a freight station at the port in the future.
