Lagos Floods: I Have Not Seen Any Foward Thinking Plan by the APC Government - Rhodes-Vivour

Lagos State is one of the fastest sinking cities in the world, and it has been reported that by 2100 most of Lagos will not be habitable with the current state of things. The government's template of handling this flood issue is reactionary that is mediocre at best

Why is it that Gbadebo was called and not the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment? He is to come and explain what they are doing to curb this flood issues. Gbadebo is saying all these because he's not presently in governance. Meanwhile, he claimed he's a Lagosian, he can do something for his community. All his examples are foreign, Japan, Switzerland etc. He does not think like his people, so he can't help them.

I see some nonentities here insulting this man, because his mother is an Igbo, and he married an Igbo woman. Let me suggest, before you insult anyone, look around your family if you have anyone who surpasses the person you're insulting in your family. Remember that his father is a Yoruba man, and also a retired justice of the supreme court of Nigeria. Don't insult and denigrate someone who is far greater and bigger than you. Are you saying if you do business or anything with someone who is not from tribe, such business should not yield any profit because the person is not from your tribe. Are you saying any woman married into your family who is not from your tribe should not be a blessing to your family, since you abhorred good things from another tribe. Until you're traced and charged for defamation and libel you will not learn to respect people natural affiliations. GRV you're a great mind. The truth is that the lagos state government is not doing much to effectively tackle the flooding situation in lagos. Their efforts are at best very pedestrian and moving forward, the goverment should leverage the resources at their disposal and actively work with relevant stakeholders to resolve these issues. There is too much at stake to not do anything and the fact that the water will recede with time is silly.

It's disheartening to see failed politicians become critics. Mr. Badebo should strive to be more objective and genuine in his criticism of the current Lagos state government. His apparent political motivations will only harm his credibility if he continues on this path. The recent flood in Lagos is a complex issue with multiple factors at play. Rather than pointing fingers, we should recognize that the disaster resulted from a combination of factors, including: - Unusually heavy rainfall that overwhelmed the city's drainage system - Inadequate drainage infrastructure that failed to keep pace with rapid urbanization - Blocked drainages due to poor maintenance and waste disposal - Climate change, which contributes to rising sea levels and changing weather patterns - Poor urban planning and development that neglects natural waterways and drainage paths - Inadequate funding, slow response, and ineffective flood management strategies from government agencies and institutions To address the flood, we need a collaborative effort to improve infrastructure, urban planning, and disaster preparedness and response. Let's work together to find solutions rather than playing politics with the issue.

You said low funding ?.,, wheres the Lagos , the biggest economy in Africa ? You said drainage blocking?..,,, where are the govt agency responsible for that ? You said global warming ?.,,,, the rain did fall only in Lagos , they refused to prepare Lagos to climate changing, they use Lagos IGR to live owambe life , enjoying with their families and gang members.
