@@lazyles875 he’s not saying she is the actual goddess, but the embodiment of her virtues. - which btw was the whole point of worshiping deiteis back then; to transcende yourself and learn/grow from emulating them.. with Lagertha however, it was simply who she was! 💜

She is my favorite on Vikings. She is awesome. Great song

Search history. There was a woman called the "mother of kings". She was from a provincial tribe, but her son ruled an empire. Her name was Świętosława (m in Slavic languages) or Sigfrida (in Germanic). Lagherta is partly Her reflection.

This character was the breathing definition behind the saying “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.” She was put through so much and she still made most of her dreams and wishes come true.

Not sure about dreams and wishes, she longed for children and a (dignified) life with Ragnar.. HOWEVER she did make the best of the cards life handed her. Lagertha was resilience personified. What a woman.. what a human being! I have a theory her strength and kindness got her enlightened ear the end.. what you think?

@@tai.dewitte Yes you're very right that's why I said she made most of her dreams and wishes come true. She tried like hell to try to manifest every last one of her hopes. She wasn't perfect- she made mistakes and enemies yet i feel you're spot on about her attaining enlightenment at her end. 💙

I cried when she died. I cried even harder when they done the funeral. It was beautiful. I know its just a show but she was one of my favorites.

Exactly that what I want with me and my 19 year old daughter with special needs to be young strong willed warriors. We are born live and die so imma making each day like it was the last day on earth

She is really a Queen and a Goddess a legend. Also what a wonderful performance by Katheryn Winnik. She is actually my favourite actress right now. I look forward to seeing her in many more roles 🙌

Very beautiful woman. Katherin Winnick (real name Kateryna Vinnytska) is daughter of Ukrainian migrants to Canada. She got black belt in taekwondo in 16 years old. Real warrior. Ironically for the film "Vikings", Katherin is of Ukrainian origin, and modern Ukrainians (also known as Ruthenians) originated from Kievan Rus/Ruth (Gårdariki for Vikings) - medieval feudal state with capital in Kiev (Konugard) ruled by Vikings (Varangians) for centuries. Her character in that film reminds me a lot of Great princess Olga (Helga) of Kiev - one of the most famous women-rulers of Kievan Rus in Х century. Lagertha is like copy of Olga, who ruled after the death of her husband, prince Igor (Ingvar), and was very powerful lady...RISE, UKRAINE🇺🇦

This is only character I mourned for she was Iconic. I cried like a baby when she died such humility and humbleness. Aslung was a horrible person and mother without humility who gave birth to satan and the downfall of a legacy. I said what I said none of her sons really cared when she died only the one psychopath who was just her cared.

She was real. She grew up 20mins outside of my city in Norway. She was from Skaun and grew up next to the river called Gaula..outside of my city Trondheim. She was indeed a shield maiden.
