Presentation of the Laga Festival of Lubuagan, Kalinga during the Cordillera Festival of Festivals 2023 on November 11, 2023 at the Rose Garden, Burnham Park, Baguio City
Launched in 2011, the annual Laga Festival of Lubuagan, Kalinga features various festive events such as cultural music, dances, agro fair, sports, fashion, civic events, pageantry, and gastronomic fairs and competitions.
The Laga Festival celebrates the time-honored cultural expression of traditional art work as their dignified source of income, livelihood and employment.
Laga means weaving. Since time immemorial, weaving has been the industry of the people of Lubuagan. It has been in existence through time as it was passed from generations to generations. Women weaver textiles and handcraft beads while men weave soft brooms, baskets and backpacks.
Representing the festival is Lubuagan National High School - Main, winners of the 10th Laga Festival Cultural Field Demonstration Competition 2023.
