I was on that concert in Poznań, Poland he was talking about, this was the first time he played the song. He told us he didn't have more songs to play, so he will try to improvise something, and he began playing this beautiful track, which later got called "Poland". This is a very happy memory for me, thank you Olafur.

True most of the artist that i follow play out of the US and if they do play here it's in New York, L.A. Chicago etc.. and the dates are limited. I went to a Chick Corea concert here in the states a few years back and the theater was only 1/3 full Chick even made a comment about it and said he gets hired more in South America, Europe and Asia then he does in the US. John Mclaughlin (Jazz Guitar dude not the pop singer) says the same thing. Sad but true.

@JP Williams. You cannot even imagine how right you are. This happens when a nation as a whole can value arts and develop itself freely without the need to endanger itself. Living without oppression of the monsters from Brussels and with no need to harbor dangerous species from the Third World who are coming to the country in order to destroy it from in within.

There is also another fact to take in consideration : We like exotism. I'm from France but I'm more likely to go to a Jazz concert with foreign musicians even if we have great talents here. But I agree with the fact that the US is not the best country when it comes to art valorisation.

This Guy must have amazing personality. The way he interact with people, I'm under impression that there is nothing artificial in him. I saw his performance live in Poland, and I would recommend it to anyone. There is something absolutely mystical, beautiful and soul touching in his music. He may have be one of the most talented composers of our time.

That first song is such an emotional piece for me. I always see myself standing in the snow, looking over an empty landscape, freezing and feeling sad because the woman i love has left me years ago. And i'm waiting for the moment she returns, walks up to me without saying a word and hugs me forever. To me, this music is what love with all the happiness and pain that comes with it feels like.

Christina, I have a hard time associating feelings with music in the same way most people do. I hear people talk about music saying things like "this song makes me feel happy" or "this music feels so sad" and I just don't get those reactions. The best way I can explain what music does for me is that it recharges my soul like a battery. Sitting here listening to this performance with my eyes closed I don't feel happy, anxious, melancholic, or any other specific feeling. This music simply fills my soul.

+Shadaab Kadri I know he verbally acknowledges his string players towards the end. But as a professional musician, I'm only saying that they're not mentioned in any way within the context of this KZread video. Googling things brings up text within KZread videos; verbally mentioning something doesn't get it indexed by search engine bots. I was only saying that for the sake of the musicians involved, specifically crediting them within the description of the video would allow a viewer to more easily reference them. Don't get me wrong- Ólafur Arnalds's aesthetic, mannerisms, and professionalism are all unquestionably represented here in this enlightening video. I'm only saying that a performing musician's interests are best represented when directly credited, within the text of a KZread video, in the written text of the video.

To get those names in text: Looks like the violinist is Viktor Orri Arnason www.viktorarnason.com/ and the cellist is Paul Grennan 👏
