I think the fact that my reaction to seeing this notification was "Wait she's only on 100k?" says it all but CONGRATULATIONS! Your videos manage to be both incredibly informative and inspiring, and the Jojo Rabbit video is my go-to for remembering why I want to pursue film. I have cried watching it. Several times. Also the Happy Death Day video is a personal favourite!

A while back on twitter someone asked for recommendations for video essayists to check out. I said that you, along with MaggieMaeFish and ThorHighHeels, were the three best youtubers under 100k subs at the time. So happy to see all three of you hit that mile stone, and I'm looking forward to watching you grow even more!

City of Ember, that's a movie I've never heard anyone mention. Wouldn't have expected that one to pop up in this video. ^^ While it's not on par with some of my childhood favourites, I did find it enjoyable and I'm surprised it's not more beloved. I think it would pair well with "The Borrowers" (1998). You can start off nice and fluffy with The Borrowers and then continue the vibe, but much darker with City of Ember.

YES! YES! YESSSS! Someone else saw Song of the Sea oh thank you world THANK YOU! Edit: I'm Irish and have been to Cartoon Saloon and it delights me to hear anyone I admire praise their movies, especially considering how small they are and all the odds against them. If someone reading this hasn't seen any of their films and likes animation you should, they're fantastic, support these little guys.

Your videos are comfort watches and/or emotion waves that wash over me when I need it, so thanks! I stumbled upon your channel in a bad moment in my life, finding your MASH video and it finally got me to cry again after months of being stuck in Depression. These videos are wonderful, beautiful, and have helped me get through some stories I struggled with in the past. The Last of Us 2 video I watched two weeks ago and its still destroying my brain. Your videos are ones I can come to for good analysis videos, and also to just... let myself Feel. Thank you for this, I look forward to everything else you create, and you may have inspired me to do similar videos someday in the future but perhaps focussed on some fanfiction that so completely transformed a store into their own and how that destroys me. Thank you

I absolutely love their work (by which I mean both Lady and BKR) and it would be very interesting to see a crossover where one covers the production and one covers the story of the film itself - would paint a very broad picture of the entire process that we don't usually get 'all in one'

I find that if one lists good things and then ends with the bad aspects it comes off more as dismissing any merit the work has because it fails in other ways. I've found a lot of comfort in "this thing is imperfect [for X reason] and I like it still" sort of critique. It's good to know that I'm not a degenerate for liking the character dynamics in a show that has less than stellar elements.

I find that watching any single video of yours is extremely interesting not just for the content but also for what it does to my thought process. I am a film major and due to a rough bought of depression this past year, I’ve kind of lost the passion I once felt for films. It’s a really confusing time. Hope you can avoid it successfully if it does get a release. Oof I forgot about the lotr series. Third of all (thirdly of all?), it's difficult to convey just how pumped I will be if you end up making that Stargate retrospective. Congratulations for the 100K+ subs. I've found you through your Haunting of Hill House video and just had to watch all your videos a couple of times since. And I enjoyed every second of it. Keep up the great work and thank you for your incredible video essays!

so happy you've reached 100k! i love all your videos and i often recommend your channel to my friends, just because "i like this thing" is imo an underrepresented category of take on the internet right now. sometimes i'll have put off watching a video for a bit because i know it'll make me too emotional about a thing i love. i'm also really into the shadow and bone soundtrack! although i am not an expert in soundtracks, i'd like to put on my tinfoil hat for a second: i think one of the clever things about that soundtrack is how it's already establishing these character motifs in season one that are recognizable *enough*, but also flexible enough to be combined with others and developed. like in the royal archives heist there is a persistent clockwork ticking in the background, and also a five note piano motif, that as far as i can tell represent kaz and inej, OR heists/plans and sneaking respectively, and later on even a metallic clinking noise that might be jesper. and in shipwrecked there is a rising string section that seems to represent nina or her powers (we also hear it when she uses her powers on the innkeeper) that cuts off when matthias pushes her away. alina gets ethereal vocals when she uses her powers, etc. they don't williams-esque themes (typical tv budgets/composer workprocesses probably don't allow for that) but they do get these snippets that can be combined or refashioned for new scenes or character groupings and still stay recognizable (i.e. a certain future heist with all the crows). so thats my two (unexpertly) cents on that!

I got hype when you listed A series of Unfortunate Events film Soundtrack as amoung your faves. That is a great soundtrack. Almost no one mentions that film anymore but I love everything about it so much.

I have seen Leverage. I don't think I'll ever do a video because I loathe Nate with every fiber of my being but Parker, Hardison, and Elliot are great

pacrim,,, drift compatibility,, mmmmm ive been watching ur vids for a lil bit, since jojo came out i think? your vibes are so immaculate and ur topics are just so so good (taz shaped me as a teen good god it's cool you've made a video). i really resonated with the idea of broadening perspective through video essay form, and i think even in the way we talk about media generationally (I'm 18) is interesting and insightful! congrats on 10(1)k!
