"Halford openly admitted being a huge Lady Gaga fan, so when asked if he had seen the insane KZread mashup of Lady Gaga’s Judas and Judas Priest’s Painkiller by mashup artist Wax Audio, Halford said he had just been watching it again a few days before the interview. “I was watching it with Chris Freeman, who was the bass player for gay punk band Pansy Division. He came to the pre-show the other day and we got the iPad out and he had his mind blown. It has 1,750,000 views. I love it."

I feel like these songs really contribute to each other, having such different tones. I especially like how she says in her high female voice "Judas" in such a weird way, and then dudes just belt out a short deep "PRIEST!" It's a great combination.
@PowerSkunk92
2 жыл бұрын
It'll never happen, but if this were ever played live, I can just imagine the singers getting the audience to rip out "PRIEST!" at the appropriate moments. And the general catchiness of the whole mashup means that everyone there is liable to stomping their feet and banging their heads with abandon. You would hear that final, song-ending "PRIEST!" six counties over.

I do hope the young ones or any age from that matter who maybe had the wrong idea about actual metal, which has been given a bad reputation with all the death metal and screamo emo metal bands, maybe might go back and listen to what they have been missing out on all these years and open up all kinds of new doors for them. David J. McGee That’s the miracle of a great mashup :) ❤️
I feel like these songs really contribute to each other, having such different tones. I especially like how she says in her high female voice "Judas" in such a weird way, and then dudes just belt out a short deep "PRIEST!" It's a great combination.
@PowerSkunk92
The banging drums actually give this song a Rammstein-ish vibe to me. How crazy would that be, if Rammstein covered this song?

I think this is the best mash-up because: - Mixes two different music genres (very difficult) - Mixes the videos (difficult) - Mix the name of one song with the the other band! (difficult) - The result is original, rhythmic, funny, and contagious (ultra difficult)

I come back to this delightful track over and over again. Easily a favorite song in general. Better punch and energy than either of the original sources, and they're so so very much better together.
As a Priest fan since the 70's, I found this mash up to be tastefully and skillfully done, doing credit to both artists. Excellent work!
This is some serious musical talent here! If you didn’t know the originals it’s hard to tell where one ends and the other begins.

Look up Anyplace Anywhere Anytime. Originally a duet between Nena and Kim Wilde (already two big names in 80's pop) and then look for Symphonity's cover of it. Thank me later, you're gonna love it. This idea of metalifying pop songs is the bread and butter of a lot of youtubers these days. Just look at Jonathan Young and Frog Leap Studios. You get metal for days of songs you heard in the radio.

I do hope the young ones or any age from that matter who maybe had the wrong idea about actual metal, which has been given a bad reputation with all the death metal and screamo emo metal bands, maybe might go back and listen to what they have been missing out on all these years and open up all kinds of new doors for them. I like mashup's, some better than others but this was done extremely well.
