The emotion at that point in the song is overwhelming. Right before the "mental breakdown" symbolized by the out of control piano solo.

Her The Fame era is amazing. It’s her debut era, she worked hard to prove herself as a threat and The Fame Monster was her era where she made a permanent stamp on the industry

It’s easy to forget just how famous she was from 2009-2011. There was a moment in time when she was easily the hottest topic in the media, the world was waiting for to out-do herself. She’s a legend now and has achieved more accolades than any of her contemporaries but how she managed to become an icon only two years into her career is exceptional and I doubt there will be anyone else that can do the same.

I saw this when it aired live. for a few seconds after she started bleeding, I had NO IDEA what was happening. It was so visceral and exciting. I’ve been a fan ever since. If you can get a VMA audience to gasp, you’ve either done something amazing or atrocious. She was amazing.

Truly an iconic moment!

I was 14 when this first came out. I can still recall the day I first listened to her angelic voice. I was in an abusive home, with no siblings, and parents who pretty much ignored me most of the time. I was alone.. and then there was Gaga.. she gave me a childhood I will never forget. I read every article, watched every interview, she was my first concert. In more ways than one, she’s saved my life. She’s more than my favorite artist, she is apart of me. I love you Gaga, thank you for being just you.

I love her and most of her work and performances but this is the one to beat, I still have goosebumps from this vocals and even without the real video I have the entire performance vivid in my mind, this was perfection and it lives rent free in my head and heart
