SO MANY people miss the biblical element to it completely. I've gone looking through a number of reaction videos to it, and it's just stunning how the Christian Mythology is already fading from popular awareness, to the point that folks don't even know the first thing about Judas as the Disciple who betrayed Christ to the Romans. Like... I'm stunned. She might as well have made this video just for her fellow paisan's in the Italian American community.

I was like in third year in my junior high when JUDAS came out and a big fan of Lady Gaga and of course the walking dead and DARYL is my favorite. When I heard Judas MV came out, I went to an internet rental place right after school and saw this on youtube immediately. And when they showed Judas's face for the first time "HOLY SHIT THAT'S DARYL DIXON!!" I literally scream from excitement, everyone looking at me XD but when two people you idolize a lot in one frame, you got to be screaming!

I noticed you guys were like weirded out by the part with the feet and the water lol. the meaning behind it is that Jesus washed the 12 Disciple's feet at the Last Supper so that is kinda why she put it in the video to go with the whole biblical theme. She washes Judas' feet (the guy with the crown of thorns) and Jesus' feet (Daryl from TWD)

This has a lot of biblical references. Gaga is playing Mary Magdalene and she is torn between picking Jesus or Judas, both of which are representations of "good guy" and "bad guy" trope. She falls of course for the bad guy. In a more deep sense I guess its about acknowledging one's darker side.
