@Courtney i think the dog doesn't care about the fake woman smells, bcs as long as he looks like a female she will approach him. Dogs with trauma always seems like that. My friend's brother has adopted a dog that have a trauma with its past owner too. It hates ppl that carrying a stick or bucket even tho the one carrying it is its beloved owner. I think the dog knows the smell of their owner but once it sees the things that could triggered their past trauma, they will start change. In case of my friend's dog, they bcm violent once the owner carrying stick or bucket-like things.

My cat has the same issue. We got him in May 2013. He was terrified if my husband walked in and surprised him. Took a lot of work to prevent him being terrified. Took time and now he will select both of us. He remains happier around women. Love the way the brother and sister cared enough to ask for help.

Becky looks like a small version of our dog, which is adopted too. We picked her on the street 8 years ago, at first she was acting like Becky, very tense as men approached her, but with the time it go away and now she is ok, will play with neighbours or whoever pet her. I would think 4 years would be enough for Becky to heal wounds if she was previously abused, but then we don't know dogs history...
