After 4.5 years of using the Lady-Comp fertility monitor, I want to share my long-term review of the product as well as compare the old and new models.

This is an answer to my prayers! I HATE birth control as it has been a terrible experience and did not know what else to try. My husband and I do not want to start a family just yet. I will definitely be looking into purchasing one! Thanks for the review! 🙂

Glad to hear this! The book Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great one to read as well before buying a Lady-Comp or other similar device. You can probably find it at your library 💛

Hi Tara. Great review video! I’ve had my Lady-Comp for just over a year and I also love it! I have a question for you...I’m having trouble connecting it to my computer with the USB cord...my computer doesn’t recognize it. Can you let me know what operating software you use?

Glad to hear you also enjoy Lady-comp. I have Mac OS X. The Lady-Comp should be turned on when you connect it. Did you try contacting the company? They may be able to help with that =)

Are you living in Japan? I'm currently in Okinawa and I just found out about this monitor and I've been really interested in it, but they don't have international shipping to us. :( I've thought about purchasing it and having it sent home to the States, then having a family member forwarding it to me, but that seems like a bit of a (extra expensive) hassle. lol do you think reaching out to their website and asking for a special delivery would be possible? Anyway, great review, you've convinced me to purchase this and somehow I'll get it!

Hello! I have used the old model since 2010, and still does (2024). I am 47 years and still have regular periods, so I need it. It has worked perfectly well and I like that you do not need batteries, a charger is better, if you ask me 🙂

I love the size of the new model. Thanks so much for this update! I recently went off of hormonal bc pills and been looking for more natural options. I was looking at the Lady Comp website and see that some prescriptions may alter my body temperature so I will have to run this by my dr. I don't like taking any sort of pills, but I haven't been able to break free from the pain pills for my chronic pain condition yet.

Certainly check with your doctor! You can also try tracking your own temperature with a normal thermometer and see if you notice the two phases clearly. The book Taking Charge of Your Fertility explains the process well!

I just received mine today! I see when you remove the batteries it looses all the info I entered and set etc. Does this mean every time you change the batteries it needs to relearn your cycle and you will get yellow lights? =/

Hi Tara! I'm a big fan of your channel and this is a great review of the Lady Comp. I'm happy that you've educated yourself about women's health and are spreading the word about this product. I do have one request: While there are some risks with synthetic hormones, I'd love it if you could point out that for some women it's still a viable option. I personally use traditional birth control for several health reasons. It's the right choice for me but I recognize it's not for everyone. It would be nice if you could include a statement that every women is different and should take the time to do some research and consult her doctor to find the right answer for them. Thank you for taking the time to review a very personal product and for listening! Looking forward to the next video!

You will have less green days in the beginning. After 3 months or so, you will have more. You always need to abstain or use an alternative form of birth control on red or yellow days to prevent pregnancy. See their FAQs on their website for more information on that =)

So when the green light lights up, i can have S*x with my boyfriend? Is it really safe? I don't want to get pregnant you know. One 30 year old girl said, that it's not safe, UNLESS, i also check myself every day down there (on the inside), to see how the cervical mucus is behaving and so on and so forth. But i don't want to do that. I just want to measure my tempature and i want to feel safe, to have S*x on that day, when the green light was there. So can i really trust the green light or do i really have to learn the other things too, like checking myself down there every day. :'( I'm from germany. Hope you can understand my english.

Nothing is 100% safe. The Lady Comp has similar efficacy as other methods of birth control. Can't remember the percentages off the top of my head but you can easily research that yourself and decide what level of risk you are willing to take.

it looks good, but it's not suitable for everyone.... also, there is an alternative to hormonal contraception and ladycomp - copper IUD :) which I have.

Olka Olka That one is very effective I've seen in research with almost no side effects for the average user I guess but some are affected. There's also neem oil, wild carrots, etc, that I've researched into. Cheers. Ciao. XD. Salam. Namaste.

Copper IUD is disaster - it's too many side effects like brain fog, constant tiredness, trouble with concentration, dizziness and many many more, which took me years to figure it out that it's caused by copper IUD/copper poisoning.
