Ladder 25 Vertical Ventilation

On Wednesday, we posted a video for you of a firefighter from Engine 21 assigned to fire attack at a house fire in the 3300 block of SW Murray Dr.
Today, we want to show you a different perspective from that same fire through the helmet camera of Lieutenant Selement of Ladder 25B. Ladder 25 was assigned to vertical ventilation. This task involves strategically cutting a hole in the roof of the burning structure to allow heat, smoke, and toxic gases to escape as fire attack crews work inside the structure below. This important task must be well-coordinated with other firefighting companies on the scene. In the world of firefighting, everyone has a job to do, and it all works together for the ultimate mitigation of the problem.
