I was looking for something like this that would hold up in real world threat scenarios and it seems that you convince me to get this watch simply because you practically do the same. So thanks for you input I'm sure I would add this to my edc

Watching this made me realize that I already have this watch - but its made by Pyle. At least the screens look the same. The Pyle branded one costs much more. A button on my Pyle is not working properly (I can't reset the altitude anymore) so I now have bought one of these.

Nice review! Only thing - altimeter is barometer as you need to set the reference value from which the difference in pressure will be translated into vertical distance.

First thanks to the author for the review, this was what decided me to buy this model, which I share with two Protrek, PRG70Yt and one PRG200YT, since in spite of seeming more fragile (at the moment it does not demonstrate it) the sensors of this clock him give thousand returns to those of the casio, the compass in precision, the barometer (my main instrument is thousand times more trustworthy than that of the casio, it is traced to to that of my personal meteorological station and above with decimal); things that I discovered in this month of use: The light if it is pressed and immediately afterwards the button of the sensor is pressed (for example), the same one stays burning all the time that the buttons produce, unlike the Protrek that you light the light and they drive any button and the light is annulled, illogical thing since its energy source is recharged; another interesting function that I discover is that being in the altimetric way or barometer and if the right top button stays pressed a few seconds, the clock enters way scan, on the screen it is read scan on, that is to say it alternates between the numerical reading and the graph, both of the altimeter and of the barometer, this function can be deactivated in the same way and it is useful to me. added to the fact of being able to extinguish the screen and save battery when it is not necessary. the record logs are eternally more extensive than those of the protrek giving a good panorama of climatic evolution in 36 hours; the graphs of tendency of the climate are reasonably precise and superficially the resistance to the water is the sufficient one to use it under copious rain, to wash his/her/its hands, I do not say that to take a shower since the chemists of the cleaning products can affect the stamps, but for the daily use it goes perfectly, I have the version of inverse lcd and without problems of reading with mediocre light conditions, in entire darkness the fund light is more than sufficient; I believe that he will buy another unit to have of backup for a fraction of the cost of the flagship of these marks that are much behind in precision and length of record. if it is necessary to have a video of the above-mentioned functions I can realize it, the only complaint is the screen of acrylic that is sensitive to the rayons, but they come out with facility with a suitable polisher. again to be grateful to the author of the review that I cheer up to this buy and of which I am more than satisfied.

Just so happens I have a 10 pack of batteries for my dot sight that work for this watch . Which is a plus . If you happen to have opened it up . How did the seal or gasket look? Meaning thin or thinker type ? The reason I ask is when installing the battery they some times get out of line or damaged easy . I could always go to ACE and go though the rubber gasket's .

I also have to disagree. I also swim with my lad weather and shower. I also have a g-shock. But I do not work for Casio nor do I think it is the only "good watch" out there. I teach and train hand-to-hand and wear it while doing so. The lad held up with no problems. Also everything has worked spot on. So if you have money to through away then buy the Casio or suunto. The lad weather works just as well and is as tough.

jhawk1977 Thanks. Do you think it is a durable watch for everyday use (not beating it around in the dirt, etc) and is the display dim enough that you would recommend going with the positive lcd version or is the negative display fine. I have seen some negative displays that were very dim and some that were perfectly fine. I like the looks of the negative display on this one better but if it is dim I will go for the positive lcd. The short warranty on this watch makes me lean towards the casio but i like the screen and the barometer reading on this one better. Thanks again

I did end up watching the video again that same day to show my brother the watch I was getting an I heard you talk about the backlight an I feel silly for asking you about it now. I guess after hearing you say a lot of people had a hard time seeing the watch it made me think there was no light. I hope you have a great day or night were every you on an when every you read this. An thanks for the video.

50m resistance. I wouldn't go below 30-40 for precautions. Of you get the 3rd generation of this watch for £20 more you get 100m resistance plus more accurate features

Looks identical to the Chinese made Pyle PSWWM82GN. Are you certain the LAD is German made and assembled? I'm betting China based on the grammar on the box....

@Oh hi Mark, they have these amazing inventions called "Cellular Phones". I carry one with me almost everywhere I go. With this amazing device, I can call anyone from anywhere...including the ability to dial 9-1-1 from my range, which is a few hundred yards from a county maintained road. Also as an FYI...it's you're not your...but your spelling and grammar are coming along. Keep practicing!

I have tried Suunto and Lad Weather. And now im g-shock man. NO you cannot go either dive or even swim with Lad Weather watch. Suunto is overpriced and very fragile. All plastic all around. If u need something that last forever and take beating try g-shock. Lad Weather is much cheaper version of Suunto. All plastic, bezel and glass top which is plastic are scratched even you wearing ski jacket. Well worth it around $45. But do not overpay! It does not say on the watch 30m, or even nothing says on the watch. 30m means u can be wearing it during the rainy condition, and wash hands in it, but wipe it dry very next seconds. Bottom line Lad Weather has useful and cool futures but durability is sucks big ass!

I have to disagree as I wear the LAD Weather Watch every weekend when I take my daughter swimming. Never had an issue with the watch failing. I also teach defensive handgun classes and I'm rolling around on the ground and in the dirt quite a bit with the watch...again, never had an issue.

suunto is pronounced soon-tow not sun-too fyi. im a Casio Pro Trek tough solar guy and i will say skip the cheap ones like this and get a casio, far more durable than a suunto and a china made knockoff or variant like this.

+jhawk1977 its simply higher quality control and from experience Casio is the toughest of the 3. i can attest to all 3 makes, have had experience with them all and i will day with 100% confidence Casio does it right and makes a far superior quality product.

+jhawk1977 also majority of high end casios are made in Japan...cheap $20 walmart casios are from China. again it goes back to quality control and consistency and Casio wins everytime. i have had a $20 Casio outlast a Suunto and also the quality control on these off brands is absolutely horendous. again, speaking from experience

+jhawk1977 non of the Pro Trek line is made in china. in fact most but not all are japanese or thailand and the quality control with Casio is 10x higher than that of suunto or any other generic china brand. quality control oa everything. casio also has been making watches for decades now and they have it dialed. buy whatever you want but i assure you with real world use nothing will be as tough and hold up as well as a casio.

My LAD watch filled with water and stop functioning while I was kayaking. I wrote LAD and sent pictures and this was the response. "We can't give you a new watch, since it is caused by misusing. Water resistance doesn't mean no water will go into the watch when you doing water sports. I'd appreciate your understanding." Do not waste your money on this inferior product by an inferior company. This is embarrassing.

Beau Mirau 50m water resistance... Resistance. Does.t mean it's waterproof even if you was at 20-30-40m you could still have a chance of water getting in. If you spent a further £20 you could of got the generation 3 of this watch and it has 100m water resistance and more resistant to splash too.
