I always Visit Maki and the rest of the guys whenever they come tour NY. Very cool and down to earth people, and they know their food so they tend to be nicely critical of our pizzas lol

Of course, the "real italian Pizza" is the real deal. But a great NY Pizza is some kind of animal in its own right, in particular if its 2am and you're drunk. Then having a slice or 2 with an ice cold coke, brings you right back. :D Or a cold slice the next moring with some Dunkin Donuts coffe, hmm.

L&Bs. Di Faras. Totonnos. Lenny & Johns. Lombardis. J & V Pizzeria.

I bet you would find even authentic pizza in New York, and when they came over they of course did things a bit different, using what they have in NY. Because of the size of NY it is a search if you are a tourist. Still, so cool to see proper Italians and famous ones to review pizza.

What about mouth feel?

Anytime someone comes to visit me in NY I take them to Joe's Pizza. It's not my favorite but it is the quintessential New York City cheese slice. John's on Bleeker St. is the best pizza.

@@preston2636 Only one of them consistently folded their pizza. Cristina sometimes held it folded but usually unfolded it before taking a bite. Regardless, I was just making a light-hearted comment. No need to take it so personally.
