Brian I am glad that you talked about the lift check. It is a very effective weapon which is not used enough. it is a good combination check. check down then lift up under the hands. I also like using it on ground balls. As the defenseman you can follow your man. Do the lift check. then youare on the ball and your Attackman has over run the ball.

See that, boys. No kayaks or OTH checks. Just based fundamentals in the right situation getting it done.

Zeempsid yes just if you do that make sure you get the ball out quickly and get your stick out of his arms and ribs or else you will get called for holding.

This is tricky. my experance is that when you check up and lift the hands, elbows even the arm pits you are less likely to get call for slashing or hold than when you check down, even if the stick ends up in the same place. it is hard for the ref to see whaat is happening. I find the lift check very effect in ground ball situations.
