I came across this video in March 2024. I always liked this fire station, the first time I saw it was on "Rescue 8" with Jim Davis as Wes Cameron, and Lang Jefferies as "Skip" Johnson; their rig was a GMC rescue van. The next time I saw Station 8 was in the pilot for EMERGENCY! it was called station 10 where Johnny Gage turned out in a Dodge "squad." The exterior hasn't changed much, but the new rigs are poles apart from "Rescue 8" and "Emergency!" days.

station 8 was used in the very beginning of the show when Johnny was at station 10, fire station 127 in Carson was used for fs51,,fs8 was used for exterior shots when they had str fire calls to show other units were responding.... Dispatch-1

This looks like the same station/street that was used back in the 1970's when the tv show Emergency! was still in production. I think they called this Station 8 & 9. In fact the Truck co. was a non tiller for the show and so was the rescue so a chief was assigned there in some episodes. I do not know if 2 Engines, 1 Bat. Chief, 1 Rescue, & 1 Truck/Ladder were really assigned to that LA Co FD station was only for the tv show or if that was the staffing back then at this station. Thanks for sharing it nice to se this station is still active.

The "Emergency!" pilot was called "The Wedsworth Townsend Act",depicting the beginnings of the new paramedic program in Los Angeles County!

Great video, you should do a side by side of this and the opening structure fire response from the Emergency! Premiere. It would be cool to compare 1971 and 2014, your video is filmed pretty much at the same camera angle.

+oreo10111 Stations look small outside as most have garage built little underground.But walk in one will see the garage and building is much larger inside.They can fit around 8 trucks in there

Lol I was about to say the only thing missing from the EMERGENCY! pilot was the Battalion Chief vehicle. As I remember the Squad and Chief Car were parked in between the Truck, and the two Engines. With the Squad behind the Chief car.

A task force is 2 engines and a ladder, LACoFD uses the lightforce designation of a engine and quint

No, unfortunately, they are not up to regulation from what I was told when I toured station 127 (aka station 51) while the alarms can be programed in and a few firefighters know how to do it they rarely do... I am sure maybe when a cast or member dies they do it but doubt it.

Pretty sure an entire house is a "task force"

LA County FD doesn't go by task forces. there's only a few types of task forces like HazMat Taskforce and USAR Taskforce

Little slow, in fact very slow getting out on a structural response. Most of you didn't even catch that, to busy goo gooing over the trucks and not the reality it represents (turnout time about 2 min+++. )

Station 51 is KMG-365, Station 8 is KMG-356. The LACoFD dispatch is KMG-941.

Great turnout time. NOT! Camera crew was already waiting across busy Santa Monica Blvd. No wonder County Fire response times blow.
