The trailer for season 1 is clearly before the pilot. Atlas, Mitzi's husband, is still alive. Rocky grew up with his cousin Freckles but I believe ran away for a time. And the trailer is when he comes home. Only to find that they have moved.

Rocky was actually kicked out after an incident. That's why he was a hobo on the crowdfunding announcement video.
Its not a musical though :/

By me saying musical I’m saying that the music is fantastic I love this show for its music And it’s a thing of beauty The other stuff is also great I just can’t get over the beauty of the music
