You don't have to be an expert to say that horse looks extremely uncomfortable. Look at his head carriage, so stiff and strained. @@ThatBeginnerEquestrian

@@ThatBeginnerEquestrian Regardless if its training or gear, you can't argue that it looks uncomfortable. This horse looks like its pushing down the base of its neck and also hollowed out through its back.

To the people who are seeing this as abusive, this is what I have to say to you. Stop making assumptions. As someone who has been around horses their entire life, you clearly don’t know anything about them. Do your research before commenting and making a fool of yourself. It’s not abusive. That horse is gaited, which is perfectly healthy for their breed, it just requires extra training. I don’t even do this discipline, I ride western. But if you know anything about horses, you can tell this horse is happy and healthy. Do your research. It’s perfectly fine and safe for the horse.

Saddle seat riding can be unhealthy for horses due to various physiological and anatomical reasons. Here are some of the main reasons: Posture and Collection: - Excessive Upright Position: The posture required in saddle seat riding demands a strong upright position from the horse, which leads to excessive tension in the neck and back muscles. -Back Pain: The forced upright position can strain the horse's back, leading to muscle tension and back pain. Leg and Joint Strain: -Overextension of the Legs: Horses are often trained to lift their legs higher and extend them further forward, which leads to unnatural stress on tendons and ligaments. - Joint Problems: This excessive movement can cause premature wear and joint issues, particularly in the forelegs. Special Equipment: -Heavy Bits: The bits used in saddle seat riding can be very heavy and harsh, causing injuries and pain in the horse's mouth. Training Methods: -Intense Training: The methods used to achieve the desired gait and posture can be very intense and stressful for the horse. This can lead to chronic stress and behavioral issues. - Use of Aids: Aids such as weights and chains are often used to exaggerate leg movements. These aids can cause discomfort and long-term damage. Movement Patterns: - Unnatural Gaits: The gaits required in saddle seat riding are often unnatural and can lead to unbalanced stress on muscles and joints. - Asymmetric Load: The training can cause asymmetrical muscle development and movement patterns, leading to further issues in the horse's musculoskeletal system. In summary, the practices and demands of saddle seat riding can lead to a variety of health problems for the horse, affecting its muscles, skeleton, and overall health and well-being. I did my research. These are the facts and science. As you can see, it's not a way riding a horse in a healthy way.

In that way of riding it is, but it isn't healty because the horse isn't able to carry weight at the end of their backs. You can look it up so you can see yourself on which parts on the horses back they can carry weight without long term damage.

@@andi.grke00 That's what I initially thought. Looks like her weight pretty far back on top of the fact that this horses posture looks extreme and uncomfortable. Keeping their heads up like that forces them to hollow out and push down the base of their neck. He isn't going to build topline like that at all.

@@-BrowniePoints- because when you ride a horse like this, it's posture is incorrect. It might look fancy but it's not good for them. See his back, its hollowed out. See his neck, he is pushing down through it. Can't you see his face? How can some people not tell when a horse is uncomfortable.
