Pauline makes absolute sense when she talks about how much money the Australian taxpayers are going to have to fork out for the Albanese Government's proposed Voice to Parliament referendum to change our Constitution and the ongoing costs that would have been better spent in uniting all Australians, rather than dividing our beautiful country into us and them. I have listened to both sides of the debate over the Voice to Parliament and I'm definitely Voting NO to such a Racist proposal to change our Constitution. I don't appreciate the bullying tactics that the Albanese Government has been using to force their yes to the voice campaign onto the Australian public and when we all realize that it's nothing more than political virtue signaling and a Racist debate to divide us all in this country, then it's just a waste of taxpayers money to even try to push this ridiculous idea to change our Constitution. Vote NO.

This referendum is the worst example of Marxist identity politics I have ever come across in my life. And I've been around a long time! You would have to be incredibly naive to think anything else. All we hear from radical indigenous activists and the broader cohort of wokes is what settlement has taken away from them not given them. I call them the glass half empty brigade and that's being polite! Firstly when the British settled there were small groups of warring tribes (killing and eating each other) scattered across the continent, certainly no central sovereign government with which to negotiate. Now there's even bizarre talk of reparations! Well let's look at it this way. The rule of law instituted by the British probably saved countless indigenous lives. Technology brought in by Britain made many aboriginal lives more productive and western medicine no doubt saved many indigenous lives. Agriculture, transport, education, housing etc. enriched a Stone Age culture that may well have become extinct without settlement. They were lucky to live past their 20s. Give a thought to what may have happened to the indigenous if another colonial power had beaten the British here? So to those rabid Marxist indoctrinated, angry activists who want reparations I say, pay us for our western technology that enriched the indigenous people’s lives, medicine that saved their lives and those children of the "rescued generation" who were saved from squalor and abuse at their disordered parents hands by evil colonialists! What is that worth in dollar terms? There's an old joke, how many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb, answer only one but the light bulb has to want to change! So will the voice give the indigenous the sudden motivation to want to change? I think not, legislation such as this will not improve motivation to change. It will reinforce dependency on a bureaucracy, a sense of entitlement and reinforce anger towards Australian society that they must have been oppressed. How will that be inclusive? It will be deeply divisive to enshrine racism into our constitution.

Over the last decade, the Productivity Commission’s Indigenous Expenditure Reports (IER) have consistently shown that total Commonwealth, state and territory government per capita expenditure on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is approximately double the per capita expenditure on non-Indigenous Australians. The Australian Government DIRECTLY SPENDS around 1.5 times as much on Indigenous people on a per-capita basis, or 1.64 times as much if indirect spending (via transfers to the states and territories) is included (calculation based on IER 2017 supplementary data tables). In 2015, 16, the Australian Government directly spent $14.7 billion on Indigenous people, of which 77 per cent ($11.3 billion) was through mainstream programs such as Medicare, social security payments, child care benefits and support for university places accessed by Indigenous people. Around 23 per cent ($3.3 billion) was on Indigenous-specific programs such as ABSTUDY, Indigenous-specific health programs, or Indigenous rangers programs. When state and territory government spending is included, mainstream spending climbs to over 80 per cent of the total expenditure on Indigenous people. *Australian Parliament - Indigenous affairs overview* website (current).

Australia is the only liberal democracy in the world that does not have a national act or charter of rights that explains what people's basic rights are and how they can be protected. So, instead of the voice why don't we have a NATIONAL ACT. or HUMAN RIGHTS CHARTER, so that we all benefit. I have absolutely no faith in either side of government to get this voice right. This is Albos legacy, its about him. What a mess he is creating with the immigration flood gates opening, he owns 14 homes, and is putting more pressure on so many people in this country. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS BOTH SIDES OF PARLIAMENT HAVE CAUSED THESE PROBLEMS. since the GFC, too much housing stimulus, and the problem is not raising the cash rate, Philip Lowe lowered the cash rate too low and left it there too long, the government compounded the problem by all the grants 150K to stimulate the construction industry and now we have an absolute mess, over 1000 construction companies collapsed in a year. And they want a vote to change the constitution, Sorry, I have absolutely no faith in Labs or Libs.

They can vote like the other Australians, plus Aborigines already have aboriginal comities, advisory boards, land councils, they currently get free housing, health, dental, education, $$$$$.

At some point when ur life is threatened, u ask urself, Am I indigenous? Shd I hav stood up for those who felt victimised cos they already r indigenous? Or shall I wait until I am indigenous and think, gosh, I wish I stood up for their rights now, cos who is left to stand up for mine? O yes, alot of ppl who stood by and said, well that doesn't effect me..... yet.

While I acknowledge that Pauline probably believes what she is saying is right.. I just don't think she has the intelligence or appreciation for modern Australia. The voice vote may well fail.. but people with her sentiments are dieing off. I personally am not in favor of the voice, I think Aboriginal people have been treated horribly., I also think that over generous welfare has not helped make their lives better. We do need a new solution.. I just don't think that rushing through a token voice will not achieve much. While The Labor government has made this one of their key initiatives ( probably to make the Liberal party look old-fashioned and racist.. which it probably is).. i don't think it has come from a good place. The Voice is a political tool .. we can do better.. we just don't have the people in the Labor or Liberal party to do it.
